What Kind of Grill Cloth???

Hey all. So I have an SWR 810. I am in the process of stripping it and refinishing it. I’m in the final stages of clearing it now. But I’m unsure what color/type grill cloth I want to put on it. I plan to build a frame and cover it in grill cloth opposed to the metal grill on it now.

So what do you guys think? What color/type of grill cloth would you put on this cab??? (These pics don’t have any clear on them yet mind you. I just stated the clearing process yesterday):

Yeah beige isn’t sitting right with me. I’m thinking either oxblood, dark maroon red or black colors mostly.

Right, I get it.
But even though there's space in the metal grille itself. I feel as though it would offer more protection overall.
Plus, being able to see the speakers is dope.

I prefer the protection of the metal grille, but oxblood, either the solid type like on the early 60's blonde Fenders, or the Vox type as mentioned above, would be nice looking.

I'd vote for something cool, like this paisley pattern. Keep the metal frame and get some fabric you like and make it happen. YMMV

I had a 1x15 and 4x10, covered the grills with some William Morris print - classy?

Sewed onto the side "folds"(?) of the grill, but you could probably remove the grill and use some spray adhesive - although the grill would be ugly/need cleaning up if you removed the fabric.

Keep the original (very protective) grille and paint it. Lots of options there. You can also put cloth over it as well.

If youre planning to recover the cab blonde to match the head then I would definitely use oxblood grill cloth
