Which vocal mic are you using?

Great thread i just found! I got the standard shure currently but maybe looking to branch out.
I am interested in cordless mics. What is the advantage and disadvantage. I recently had a wedding pull me on stage to sing with them and was absolultey amazed at their setup I sounded incredible. Question is -how much of that is mic and how much sound board and monitors?

I'd honestly guess that it's mostly the monitors and a really good engineer who's got a great grasp on EQ for the monitors.

There are very few weddings that we agree to play for...but when we do, they have an open bar.

As an OM7 user, I'd say that's true. I usually stay right on top of it, about an inch away, but of course that means you have to be able to play your bass part without looking at the neck.

I use OM5, and agree. Great mics but you have to be on top of your mic technique.
