White or tort pickguard; a poll for the masses

I'd normally go with tort, but I really don't like the tort with the white pickup. The white is okay. A black pickguard might bring everything together.

I cannot decide. I kinda dig the white, which sucks because I just bought the tort awhile back (when pups were black/ different neck).

I've been reading up on this? Apparently, any rattle can will do the job with no damage to the pups (as long as the connections are protected). Do you have any experience with this. These whiteys have been with me for nearly 20 years. It kinda kills me a little to paint them. I may just get a black set.

I have not painted PU's but have painted most everything else. Plastic is no a hard surface to do. However if you have sentimental feelings about those find another set. Tort by the way!

don't paint the pups! they are kinda of unusual in white, but nothing wrong.
in a couple of years the paint will start to come off and you will hate it.

To further complicate things, a B//W/B black 3 ply would look pretty sweet with a white pup on Bodeanly the bassist's bass.

I'd go this way......No way would I paint the pups.....
