The only thing keeping me from buying a bass on the TB classifieds right now is the fact that I, and the seller don't have any buy/sell feedback. And I have no idea how it works other than reading all of the terms several times on using the classifieds. Derp..
PM each other. Exchange numbers and have a conversation or two on the phone. Look up prior posts. I have found you can get a good read about someone communicating a few times. Most on here are great people.

TB redesign makes a lot less user friendly. The site overall doesn't seem to have the sense of community it once had. Also people are asking ridiculously high prices. Why would someone pay $1900 for a ten year old StingRay bass when a brand new one is just a few hundred bucks more, comes with a warranty and has upgraded features?
Unless the ad says “firm,” negotiate. Make an offer. Remember. No tax here.

Cashed up bogans have had their fun with their toys that they bought whilst prices were good and they had the money.
Now things aren't so good on a world wide scale, they're selling off stuff to pay their bills and keep a roof over their heads and shoes for the new wife..
Unfortunately, they want what they paid for the items, if not more...
I see it as a case of confusing use value with production value that's creating the lack of movement, aided by money fetishism.
Cashed Up Bogans...great band name!

My sadness with the classifieds is that pages or photos are so slow to load, the connection times out. If I refresh the page, same result. Once that happens I leave the site. There's just no time for participating in this type of malfunction.

It disappeared because the default filter won't show ads marked as sold. You have to change the filter. it took me maybe 15 seconds to find it. Maybe we need some tutorials/videos on how to use the new features.

I often check if the item is also listed on Reverb or ebay. If it is I check the sellers feedback.

I literally have problems finding my own ads when I want to bump them. Takes me 2-5 minutes to find each of my ads and I know what they are and how they’re titled. It’s either me or classifieds are a bit of a mess.

Open your profile and there’s a tab for your classified ads. Should take five seconds max to find them all.

Thanks for the heads up! I just did the filter update. I see it now.

Another suggestion: Any chance of reverting back to the old way of it saying SOLD center left ( so to speak) after closing the deal?

It's a bit confusing perusing through ads with the green FOR SALE on the left and then you have to look on the right to see the red SOLD. It's a bit too much info on a screen. How about just one or the other? Just a thought to make the ads less busy.

Follow/watch your own ads. You'll get notifications when there is activity and you can easily find them in your watched threads list.

yes, changing the green for sale flag to a red "Sold" would be visually much better.

I paid $2200 for a near mint closet queen SR5 from ‘00 lol. It sure is nice.

…but I totally agree the “community” has changed quite drastically.
nice. I bought a brand new StingRay5 from basscentral.com in the early 2000s for $1100 shipped. Silver with maple fingerboard

Thank you for your help. I did not realize that looking myself up would get me to my ads quicker than
looking for the ad itself.

However, the point I was trying to make is that it is not easy for a third party to
locate an ad after a casual look. Many times I have seen something posted and later want to look it up. That's
when I find myself wading through ads that are not relevant.

I am looking for the ad at that time, not the Sellers name or profile.

Nonetheless, you have helped me locate my own ads more quickly and I thank you for it. I'm sure I
will be helped in new ways, but my focus is on how to potential buyers find my specific ad?
