Will I be able to slap with flatwounds? If so, which ones?

Thanks for posting this. I knew there was a lot of Slap using flats but didn't have specific examples.
You are quite welcome. There are many examples. But since our inclination in the roundwound era is to assume that 'slap bass is done on roundwounds', we don't realize it or we forget them. Keep listening... there's a lot!

No no no no!! Do NOT attempt to slap n pop on flatwounds. Doing so will upset the space-time continuum resulting in the the opening up of a worm hole to another universe- a universe that will unleash unimaginable consequences. Just kidding, slap away! Heck, Chuck Rainey slapped on the chorus of “peg” with a 50s Precision bass with flats.
And, IIRC, they specifically told him NOT to slap! :roflmao:

Well, it was because of the time period more than anything. Larry and Louis relatively quickly moved on gear wise and never looked back.

Holy crap that was amazing and creepy how talkbass just edited my post… I assure you I never have intended to use the word. “poopie”
That you've never noticed (the automatic censorship function has been in place since 2015 I believe, i.e. well before you joined) shows your restraint in terms of language on these boards.
More importantly, you didn't post the actual link to the Mike Gordon video you had in mind, only one to the YT homepage. Can you edit the post above?
