Winter 2017 Build Off - Challenge yourself

Man, I love this, but honestly, the last thing I need in my life right now is a new challenge! :)

Although I have a couple of ideas stuck in my head. Hmmmm....

I thought of making it a requirement, but not everybody has the capability of creating a sound file, so I don't think it would work for all

Your thought is though is a good one, and if you had a sound file in your post, maybe the voters would use that as part of thier voting criteria.

I hope everybody is reading this page because I am prepared to make an announcement

I've been working behind the scenes with a number of vendors, and I am arranging for some prizes to be distributed at the end of the contest.

I already have Stew Mac, and Best Bass Gear lined up.

Thanks for the vote of confidence @Jisch , but there are a lot of top luthiers in this challenge. People who have been building far longer than I. We've got everything from carbon fiber, to hippy sandwiches, to devil killing spiders. I only hope I don't make too poor a showing. And remember the last build off - everyone was saying I was going to win, and then I didn't.

I'm just in it for the fun.

And prizes :p

yo dudes, can i enter my build which i started, tools to wood, this week? I made the build thread a while ago, but am super keen to enter this as i'm doing a big challenge in the build: fibre optic fret dots! Also going to try and use hammer and chisel for all routing (apart from truss rod).

let me know and i'll update the build thread if so! Yoshibass #3: Spalted sycamore 6 string headless

Prize Vault update

I just got word from Nordstrand. They will be contributing to the prize vault.

I'm pretty happy that vendors are coming through here. They are contributing way beyond what I thought I would be gathering up. So moving forward, I will let you know what vendors will be contributing, but I am a bit reluctant to tell you what the prize is for fear that this may drive the competition adversely. Its about the build.
