Winter 2017 Build Off - Challenge yourself

So I've mentioned in my thread about this but, I was wondering what you all's experience has been with it. How is the weather effecting your build progress and build process?

For me I work in an unheated shop for all woodwork so the couple weeks of sub freezing weather we got here a while back definitely put a damper on my progress. I'll also have to do the finishing indoors.
At the moment we have around -15 to -20degC. I have central heated garage as hoppy space so no problem with weather. Finishing is a bit tricky as I have to shield everything in the garage, including my -91 Miata. It's too cold to drive it outside overnight. Easier to cover it with thin protective sheeting.

I feel like a complete wimp complaining about the weather slowing me down... Got a 97 Miata BTW. Now you know the rest of the story behind the shortscale motivation...

So we're down to just about 3 weeks to go now. How many are going to get in under the deadline? I've been horrible lately about keeping my thread updated, but have making slow steady progress. I'm pretty sure I'll finish on time, though it will be close.

I'm pretty sure I'll make one.

Two week notice!!!

Yes, we are heading down the home stretch, and most of the builds are comming together very nicely

I'm truly impressed with what's going on here, not only with the builds, but with the sharing of information, and building techniques, and everything else that's surrounding it.

TYVM!!!

I will be really close. I sanded today before work and at lunch in a freezing garage. If I can get all the sanding done by this weekend, I could reasonably have a playable instrument by the 20th. I wouldn't complain if it was extended to the 31st though - just putting it out there. I have to install side dots, coat the fingerboard with CA and drill a couple holes for pots, that plus sanding and finishing, it COULD happen :-D
