There's really no way to stop terror attacks by small organizations without destroying our own civil liberties or rewriting the book on what's a war crime. At least I don't see a way. You can't make them convert from Islam. Try converting your neighbor away from his religion. Doesn't work. Unless you're prepared to go WW2 style, war doesn't work. The Vietnam style, win the hearts and minds war we are doing now won't work. They hide in civilian houses and any terrorists you do kill creates 2 more in its place. You can restrict immigration, but it doesn't really matter. As long as America is addicted to cheap labor you can get in. It's ridiculously easy to get a company to import you at their expense. Just say you'll mop a floor for minimum and my company will fall all over itself to get you here. They'll fight any law to restrict that.

Truthfully I haven't heard a single proposal that would really work. Some would just create more terrorists. Most would just continue the status quo. I can't criticize, I can't think of anything either.

Sorry, humble, I was just trying to mock of the notion that anyone commenting here could possibly know exactly what ISIS and company wants by sardonically pointing out that I know exactly what they want while simultaneously evoking the image of greg and one drop waiting restlessly for your return to vigorously debate.

Funny how when it comes to certain topics, the same people who say we have to wait until all the facts are in to judge an event, are extremely quick to decide another event is proof of the correctness of their grand narrative.

We are hearing from a number of folks who do conform to the site rules that they would like this conversation to be reopened.
