US: South atlanta area members and beyond

I've started a Facebook group called "Atlanta Bass Players." We have a lot of professional, Grammy award winning/nominated artists, etc. in the community. We are planning a podcast, bass hangs, clinics, etc. The groups is really limited to Georgia musicians. Please come on over if you use that social media platform.

We feature a local bassist every week, music with great bass lines, and great conversation.

It's happening!

I would love to join in on the festivities at this location, but alter retiring in 2015 from 15 years of driving up there to the Macy’s Systems and Technology buildings from my south of ATL home, that trip is not something I want to do now.
That said, I hope you guys and gals have a hell of a good time fellowshipping!

Yeah I'm thinkin you got the name wrong. It should be "Alpharetta Bass Player's Hang."

Intown ATLien here not so psyched on a trip to the northerly exurban empire
A) It's tough to find a venue that will donate a room to you for free.
B) This is the first of many events. The goal is to gauge participation, then at some point, charge a fee for the event to pay national artists to attend
C) No-one else has gone through the hassle of trying to do something similar, so.... beggars can't be choosers?

We'll continue to move forward...

Sure, all valid.
I'll choose to go when Atlanta Bass Players does a Bass Hang in Atlanta.

Also, this isn't just a Joe-shmoe get together. We really do have national artists that are attending. I was talking with Victor Wooten a few weeks ago. He even offered to come down once this is a regular event.

But that's okay. I respect your choice.
Cool man, I really just hate driving OTP.
I rarely get out of the Decatur-Kirkwood-O4W-Midtown area.
And I regret coming off snarky when you're trying to get a good thing going.
