US: South atlanta area members and beyond

Atlanta covers a lot of ground! Looking forward to meeting up with everyone who can make it. @Nightman thanks for coming out and hearing me play a tear or so ago.
I would wager that most of the TB’ers in this club aren’t really living in Atlanta neighborhoods.
I grew up in neighborhoods inside 285 and 20 west, but for all of my adult life I’ve lived in Atlanta Metro areas, like Austell, Decatur, Smyrna, and now Fairburn/South Fulton City. But when talking about the music scene and gigging grounds, no one except locals would know those areas, and neither is known as a hot music spot. LOL
But tell folks you gig on the regular in Atlanta and you’ve earned yourself some equity by association.
I guess if started a Fairburn Bass Played Club, I’d be the only member! LOL

@One Way, refresh my memory about that gig.

I announced it on this page as an invitation to Atlanta Bass Players to come out to what was then Dancing Skulls in Johns Creek/Alpharetta. We were scheduled to play and I mentioned we were open to other bass players joining us on stage. Dancing Skulls double booked and we were out. We did some fast work and rescheduled to play at Hooligans on Holcomb Bridge Rd in Roswell. You came out, I played my G&L M-2500 and you mentioned to me during a break that you noticed I changed my bass EQ and pickup settings to fit the song I played. Hope that helps. I recall you lived closer to Austell/Marietta back then.

So, I was concerned that I couldn’t remember that gig and did some research and saw where you posted about the gig.
Seems that might have been Just_Chill who attended that open mic at Dancing Skulls. I wasn’t there, but I wish so had been!
I really need to adjust my attitude about driving up the old PIB or Medlock. Seems the only thing that persuades me to venture up in that area is the Brew Depot for my wine supplies. 😝

The first event was a success. I'll be posting a few videos from the event. We're looking at doing another in October. We'll also be looking for a central location near Atlanta. Any help in securing a low/no cost venue is appreciated!

Just a reminder our band is playing tonight as I mentioned to several of you at the Atlanta bass player gathering at Joe’s.
