Cab Impulse Response Megathread

Does anyone here used a software based IR loader with the DI output on their amp? I'd like to utilize the DI out on my amp for silent recording. Honestly the Pre+Power DI out on my amp sounds great as is, but I would like to start experimenting with cab sims without investing in a cab sim hardware/pedal.

Does anyone use a software based IR loader?

Is it possible to record low latency with a plugin based IR loader, or does the signal need to be run through the sim after recording due to latency?

Thanks in advanced!

yeah, I use NadIR by Ignite Amps for this purpose. Its free and has some useful features like LPF/HPF, resonance, and a room blend.

I monitor through the DAW and I don’t notice any latency while jamming and recording.

We have a winner

The Mooer Radar included bass cabs are fantastic

Ampegs and a Bassman that is great

Almost don't need to load my IRs

Only feature that I miss, is capability to blend cab sim with non-cab sim sound. But this is not the only one because I haven't seen any cab sim pedal with this feature :(. By having blend feature I could feed only one signal to FOH, now I need to have two where one is from Mooer and one just before it. I ended up skipping the cab sim in live and let the real cab talk (miked if needed?) along the DI non-cab sim signal.

I couldn't get attachment seen correctly during edit so needed to make a new post.

Here is how I use Mesa IR with Reaper. Their factory VST plugin "Reaverb" eats IRs and let you blend wet and dry signals making things easy without the need of using two tracks. I hope this feature will be coming to pedals too one day.

I believe the Darkglass Element has the blend feature you're talking about.
