Are there any player here that have or had one? How did you like it? Are there common issues with those?
Un Sung (US) or World Music(E)?

09 is 2009
10 is 2010
11 is 2011

Mine is a 2006 Demonator Vintage
One has a set neck and the other has a through neck.

No neck issues.

Catalog pages with various different Demonator models. Metalman versions are lower tier and bolt on.

@B-Mac Do you happen to know what Pickups and pre-s Dean uses? I'm wondering if the same electronics are in my MULE base. It looks like the PU and Pre are G&B brand. I also saw on the G&B website they manufactured some version of EMGs

I do not know if they do or not. However, Zelinsky gets his parts from Asian sources and then assembles everything here in the USA.

So it is possible.

Most newer Deans (Non-Zelinsky) are built in Indonesia and China with only the Rhapsody 12 string still made in South Korea.

They use DMT (their own, but made in Asia), EMG, Bartolini, Fishman Fluence. The USA shop in Florida makes their own in Tampa.

Dean is currently using World Music to make their basses in Indonesia (and possibly Cor-Tek if I recall correctly). World Music also has a factory in South Korea where the Rhapsody 12 string is still made.

Up until 2015 Dean also had basses made by Un Sung in South Korea. Un Sung went out of business at the end of 2015.

Some G & B info

Absolute crazy deal on a Dean Edge Pro:

$299

Not in any way connected with this sale.

GuitarOutlet.com is operated by Empire Music. We offer great deals on inventory that we get directly from manufacturers that we work with.

We have purchased a large quantity of great Dean and Luna guitars and basses directly from the factory with incredible pricing. These guitars are considered used and do not include factory warranty.

These instruments will likely have light play wear, some minor blemish or cosmetic flaw. Any issue with the frets/necks will be addressed by our techs and the play-ability and action of the guitar will be listed in the listing.

I cannot believe that sold for $169 USD. Wow.

Somebody got an incredible deal.
Just keep in mind that every one of these that this seller sells has no warranty as they are sold as though they are used even though they are not. No returns.

Still an amazing deal. I’ve bought 3 instruments from him so far and all in excellent shape. I also made offers lower than what he offered me. So he’s open to making reasonable deals. That Edge Pro was more than a reasonable deal.

What are your impressions of the bass? Decent as is? Does it need modding? Overall feel/weight? Thanks for any opinions.
I love them. I'm just a bedroom bass playing hack though. However, @Wicked G gigs with the Edge 3. He has two both tuned differently. EADG and DGCF.

Fast neck. If you don't like a thin narrow neck with a flat radius you might not like it. String spacing on these tends to be 16 mm or so. Since I'm a pick player I like the tight string spacing.

See my recent edit above.

Also, @Sub-Frequency has an Edge 3 as well.

I'm not a modder unless it is something like a Glarry.

Supposedly, if I recall correctly, the Edge 2 can easily be modded to a three band from what someone was telling me here
as it already has a three band in it, but simply needs another pot. I might be remembering that incorrectly.

The Edge 2 and Edge 3 are basically Dean's take on a Stingray. A different preamp could probably do it for you.

These are active and you may not like the lack of a mid control.

For $169 this is an incredible deal. Just remember that this seller is selling these as B-Stock and no Warranty and not returnable.

I've bought a few instruments from him and he's a pleasure to deal with.

He is not listing everything he has all at once either, which is a bit frustrating for me, because he has had a few Dean Prototypes.

8 to 9 LBS.

I see that you have a similar style G & L.

You could message the seller on Reverb if he has any Edge 3 5 string basses coming up for sale of you'd really rather have the 3 band Edge 3

In general, though I need no new basses, I would buy that one. It is a steal! For the price, it could be a satisfying beater to kick around. I have found over time though that I am not a big fan of the gold hardware. I would perfer black or chrome on any bass. I just don't want to polish gold regularly.

Here's some dean photos. I have laid them down here just for fun.
