Yep daphne blue. I agree, I love tort but modern tort kinda sucks, and mint belongs on custom colors. So that’s the Daphne blue AV II 1960 with mint green pick guard? If so, I like it a lot better than having the tort pick guard on there.

Took my 60P to church today. It was crazily noisy due to the lights on stage. At home it’s pretty quiet. When I didn’t touch the strings, the noise was almost unbearable. I think I need to take it to a luthier and get it properly shielded.
but it looks gorgeous

Sounds like a grounding issue. Nice Axe!View attachment 4874278

I just wanted to post an update. I recently surpassed my twentieth gig with my 1960 AV ii P bass with the swapped out American Original 60’s jazz neck. I think it’s safe to say that any honeymoon faze is over. I can honestly say that this is the most responsive, lively and growly p bass I’ve ever owner. I have vintage P’s from the 60’s early 70’s and a custom shop. None of them even compare. I don’t know what kind of pixie dust this thing has. But it’s absolutely something special.
So this is pretty much Fender saying oops, we screwed up discontinuing the AVRI series which were the best instruments we'd built since the early 60's here they are back again? I guess you have to give them some credit for rectifying a mistake. But you'd think the 50's and 60's originals these are based on would be all the lesson anyone would need that if it ain't broke.....
I found it on reverb. Just type in “pure vintage 63” and you’ll find it.Perfect match!
Where did you find that pickguard? I'd like to have one with that same vintage finish
Nice way to get into J basses. Congrats!I received my AVII J bass in seafoam 2 days ago. It came setup really nicely. I made a few tweaks to my liking and this thing plays great. No rough edges, and the fretwork is flawless. This is my first J bass as I generally just play P basses but I’m glad I finally got a J bass and this one hasn’t disappointed at all.
I have no complaints at all.

Now, I don't know if you're new into nitro finishes too or maybe you already got it figured it out, but... You know if that amp-stand that you're using got any rubber-like padding?
I say so because some of them make the lacquer react badly and screw up the finish. I don't really know what precise type of rubber/foam/plastic stands cause it, but I've seen that happen and it's horrible. A safe play would be to just wrap some cloth/towel to the stand, so the bass doesn't touch it directly.
Apologies if you already knew all of this
