Fender leak - American Vintage Series II is coming?

Found this recent vid.

Also talks about glue on the fretboard among other factory issues. QC is not looking good.

I did also realise that I got the same case as my American Original came in rather than the Orange interior case. No sticker on guitar, no set up tools. Not sure if Fender have stopped doing this or if it is inconsistencies.

I'm a Fender player, but these things just have to be said.

Wrong case, no Candy sounds like a retailer issue.

thanks! it sounds perfect too with labella 760fl. However I'm waiting on a replacement A string because this set's is very sitar like and buzzy, no bueno. Has anyone else noticed poor qc from Labella too? seems every set I buy has a dud string.

I've never gotten a bad string from them and used them quite often in the past. Actually yes I did, one new broke when I tightened it up and they sent me a new one free.

I’m calling bull hockey.

I’ve bought I don’t know how many fenders and only had a problem with one. Loose fret , which was easily remedied.

If the case was different and stuff was missing it’s the retailer. Not fender.

Bull to the sheet

Let me be a bit clearer. I bought this directly from Fender.

When a guitar is circa $2300 you should expect pretty top quality. I have had fantastic Fenders and said this about my last American Original guitars, but you gotta also highlight when things aren't so good. Isn't this what this forum is about?

Have you contacted Fender to let them know you’re not happy? I would contact them and let them know you’re not happy receiving the wrong case with no case candy. Especially if you purchased using a credit card and have some leverage.

Totally agree.

Took my 60P to church today. It was crazily noisy due to the lights on stage. At home it’s pretty quiet. When I didn’t touch the strings, the noise was almost unbearable. I think I need to take it to a luthier and get it properly shielded.

but it looks gorgeous :)

Do the luthier connect a wire from volume pot to shielding cavity?

I have similar issue on my Vintera p, hum still present randomly after shielding job done. Thks to @andare advice. Hum free forever.....

I do believe there are no shield thing on AV ll P cavity since period correct except the pickguard shielded , correct me if I am wrong .

Yes, sent them a mail. I'm not to bothered about the case, but thought I'd just raise it on the forum to see if anyone else had the same experience. I was more bothered about residue on fretboard (whatever it is) but they part refunded accepted that. I didn't even think about the case until I read the Fender spec again which stated orange interior. Normally I would send a guitar back with issues but other than than it's very nice guitar.

THIS!!

I have had a hole in my life (ok, my bass life, nah my life, haha) ever since I sold a Custom Shop sea foam green Jazz several years ago. Man oh man do I love that color. I sold the Custom Shop Jazz because, for whatever reason, I just wasn't bonding with it. I doubt that will be a problem with this one.

OK, the thing only arrived yesterday, and I'm just starting the honeymoon period. But the instrument simply exudes quality, in every way. I am in love. In love, I tell ya.

Purchased online from Mundt Music in Texas. They were great. I was determined to stay at 9 pounds or below with this model, and this one came in at 8 pounds 15 ounces. I changed the stock strings to LaBella flats.

Beautiful! And nice playing, too!
I don't need it, but am considering one of these at a local store. They unboxed it for me, and I literally gasped when they opened the case. What a looker.

Shielding won't do anything against electromagnetic waves. It only helps with electrostatic interferences.
What comes through the air goes to the hot plug on your pickups, not through the ground wire. The split-coil Precision pickup is humbucker by design but some devices or antennas can spread rather unnatural waves that even an humbucker can beat.
Thay being said and the fact that I read your post a second time. If touching the string helped, then you probably had a pretty dirty electrical supply. The Pure vintage '63 pickup in your bass has a great copper plate for shielding the pickup cavity. Maybe something is badly soldered? A guitar tech can help you.

99.9% of noise in a bass onstage is electrostatic including most stage lights, to get electromagnetic interference you need to stand close to transformers usually. I shielded a Rickenbacker once that was unbearable with stage lights, I had to actually aim it at the lights afterward to get any noise. Touching a metal part of a bass usually minimizes electrostatic interference. The only time I have gotten electromagnetic interference was standing too close to an SVT head which is 60 cycle hum, very different from stage buzz which are usually harmonics

I bought a new Am Hot Rod P/J in 2013 from an online dealer and the white case came with a missing latch, I contacted the dealer and Fender sent me a brand new one, no questions asked.

I have the same and it is the best Jazz bass I have owned - and I've had a lot!
