Genzler Amplification Club

Hmmm, think this is still valid?

Had a couple of shows this weekend using my new Sadowsky Metro Express. Got it on Thursday afternoon, did a restring and setup and then took it to the gig Friday. All I can say is the Sadowsky/Genzler combo is next level! Our Friday night gig was at a new bar on the rotation for us and they like the volume low so we had to play pretty laid back….but I did capture some video stuff on the iPhone. Gives a little taste of what this pairing sounds like.

Thanks for sharing. That is a beautiful bass. Nice combination and a beautiful color. Is that a roasted maple neck?
Roger Sadowsky often recommends Genzler rigs to his customers.

Actually, unlike many other companies that got shut down by their corporate overlords, we did honor our full warranty to every single customer all the way to the end of the 3 year period. Both KMC and Fender were supportive of this too.

You are using my favorite monitors tonight ;)

I assume from the layout that they also have (or had) a cinema program?

Yes! They do cinema and theater type shows as well. Great place, crew, crowd and yeah…the JBL monitors were outstanding!!

It’s been another fun weekend. I can understand why Sadowsky recommends Jeff’s amps. Can’t believe how good this pairing sounds. I played a show last night with my band and then did a side gig today with a couple of Texas touring guys and a local sound guy who is on the road regularly. They loved everything bass related and it took him about 30 seconds to dial things in. He was very impressed with the DI. We used IE’s but the rig supplied a nice cushion of low end to fill the stage up and give us some presence. A lot of bass goodness going on!

JJ, thats some really great tone you have there. The Genzler/Sadowsky combo is killer. Would you mind describing your settings on your Magellan and Sadowsky for that video? From the apparent location of the iPhone off to the side, that array cab is clearly showing its magic dispersion capabilities! Nice chewy thick and articulate Sadowsky tone amazingly clear from the side perspective. Just wondering how your MG and Sadowsky settings were…set.

Hey Lucky....this may not come as a big surprise, but the EQ on the amp is flat and the contour A is set at about 9 o'clock. Most of the time I have the pickup blend set to the center detent and I was running both the treble and bass knobs at about 30% on. And yes, the dispersion is one of the things that sets the BA apart from other cabs. Our band is 'old school' and runs wedges for monitoring and we try to avoid putting instruments through unless we absolutely have to. We push some guitar through on occasions and keys but have never needed to run the bass through it. The band can pick up what I'm putting down pretty much anywhere on stage!
