GK MB200 - any users?

The GK worked beautifully! We had a packed house and an enthusiastic audience.
I kept the vol at 12 o'clock thru the set, rolled off the bass just a bit and boosted the mids, which worked great for the room. Thru my two MB cabs the punch was solid with great low end and the bass and kick sounded like a matched pair. Wow...this little amp rocks.

... glad it worked out so well for you, you are discovering what quite a few on here have found some time ago... right around 12:00 seems to be a real 'sweet spot' on these, you get up around 2:00 and I find it loses a bit of its appeal ... that is why I add the second if I need more and want to keep it in its sweet spot ...

I've been using one for several years now. Originally got it as a backup to my MB500, and ended up selling the 500. I'm currently using it with a Barefaced One10. It's a great amp/cab pair that I don't see changing any time soon.

I like that combo too. I think the brightness of the MB200 pairs well with the not-so-bright One10, balances out nicely. But then, I also like the ELF w/ the One10 as a punchy small rig.

I suspect that little GK will carry the day (evening) quite nicely. It has always worked well for me in living room/coffee house situations and I use mine with an Eden EX110 which is much less capable than your Markbass 210 or 115. Have fun!!
Second on @Al Kraft except I'm buying an Eden EX110 4ohm to get the full 200 watts out of the MB200. The Eden supposedly can handle 300 watts, so it should be a little beast of sorts.

I have the MB500 also, using it with a pair of Eden 110's. What ohms did you choose for the Barefaced? I thought that would make a dynamite little amp, but I think it said 12ohms or something odd like that, and I wanted 4ohms to get full power from the MB200.

Had my MB200 for a few years now and use it for all size gigs especially my Casino gigs as they have FOH now that I think about it (4yrs ago) I was really skeptical when I bought it but it has lasted with no issues thus far. You're gonna be happy with yours.

The Barefaced One10 is only available in 8 ohms, but I've never had the volume up above halfway on the MB200. It can get quite loud.

As @friskinator said the One10 is 8 ohms, but gets pretty loud anyway with the MB200. The Two10 used to be either 4 or 12 ohms fixed, but now it has a switch... 4 ohms or 12 ohm at the flip of that switch. Just got that one but am loving that cab. It can handle any gig.

I'm still on the fence about ordering a Two10. If it weren't for an expensive move that me and the wife are making soon, I would have already placed the order. I know it would sound killer with the 4 ohm MB200.

OK. That's what I was referring to. Do you have any clue why they would use 12 ohm? I don't understand the 12 ohm deal. Thanks!

Short answer-- get the MB200 and you'll be glad you did. The MB200 is a little marvel of excellent engineering. It can work with a pair of cabs or just one. It has a 1/8" audio in and 1/8" audio out. You can use the head by itself for practice and I think a lot of TB'ers do. Highly recommended.

How about some Photo of your MB200 with Cabinet. Here is Mine. Ampeg B100R (no amp in cabinet) Forgot to mention the cabinet doesn't have the original speaker. Eminence Delta 15a 8 ohm.

I've done 3 gigs on the MB200 since getting it, each with the two MB cabs. The sound is fantastic - punchy with lots of bottom, and I've yet to need more power or volume. So far I am totally happy with it. I was noticing how well it paired with the kick drum last Saturday night. Our drummer brought his smaller set with an 18" kick and the kick/bass sound was really great.

I think Bob Gallien is one of the first bass gear designers to focus his voicing goals more on how a rig sounds in a mix out in the house than in a bedroom or showroom. I'd imagine it cost him some sales early on, but I've yet to find a GK person who wasn't even more impressed hearing their gear from an audience seat than on stage...and GK rigs sounds fine on stage too IME.
