GK MB200 - any users?

You are only using 200watts. This isnt slaving.

You would have to take line out of amp 1 into input of amp 2 (with master at safest max setting) . Then both amps would each have to drive a 4ohm load from their respective speaker outs. You would control volume from amp 1.

This works better with amps that have an effects in and out so u can bypass the pre of the second amp.

Seems like you are just sending a hotter signal to amp 2 now.

Hmm I had assumed that was going on, but now thinking about it, those MB200s don't have returns!

It doesn't have a real effects return, but you can bypass the preamp and EQ via the aux-in on the back. I was experimenting with mine last week to see if I could use my 5W Hotone head as a preamp/distortion box. It worked perfectly sending the Hotone's line out signal to the aux-in of the MB200. Sounded better that way than going into the instrument input of the GK.

One thing to be aware of is that anything going into the aux-in on the MB200 bypasses all the knobs on the front of the amp. It hits straight into the power amp at 100%, so you have to use the volume control on the outboard preamp to control your level.

I've been using an MB200 and a 4ohm 2x10 as my main rig for years. As long as you're lining out to the PA, it's more than enough to hear yourself. Especially if you get your cab up off the ground and closer to your ears. For acoustic jazz or coffee house gigs I'll sometimes use an 8 ohm 1x12 instead.

I had four of them. Then downsized and sold them all.

I just bought another. I love them.

My very first live gig on bass ever (7 yrs ago?) was via a GK MB200. I had DI out for extra room/PA, but that didn't stop me from also having a huge amp/cab sound right behind me.

I'm also plugged into that same MB200 right this literal very second with my 50s Classic P bass while I type on the PC, 7 years later, as it now serves as my practice & small gig amp. The thing is a tiny titan!

MB200 is part of my always-set-up home shagaround set up, and is used for low-volume gigs like restaurants and coffee houses; for back-up-crucial situations (if I am traveling or it's an important gig), I like to have it or the Trace Elliot ELF in my bag just in case there's a problem with #1. Certainly doesn't take up much space. IMO, world's greatest micro rig: MB200 and Barefaced One10 cabinet. 17 pounds in all. Well, 18 if you count the speaker cable.
