We play some fast loud music. I'd like to get to where I can hear the vocals, I think that's the greatest part of what were making. Do you think its ok for me to ask the drummer and guitarist to pull out the earplugs and see if we can bring it down to 1/4 volume and still rock out? Is this even possible?
I don't want to risk peoples hearing but this is getting a bit frustrating. I practice to our recorded tracks in my other practice space at LOUD full volume and the vocals are so good. But in our other practice space and at shows its absolute crap. Cant hear a damn thing.
Should we get a drum shield, lightest size drumsticks? Do moon gels really help much at all?
Will doing all these things take away the feeling of the "rock n roll"?
Honest help/feedback will be the most appreciated and if you have any clips of you or anyone else playing heavy rock without ear plugs in tight places and still sounding good I'd like to listen/watch. Plz no BS and fire the drummer comments, I like the guy.
