Cutting plywood can be messy if you don't have a garage, shop, access to driveway, or someplace where you let can 'er rip (pun intended ). With flat-packs, does one still need to route the edges? Routing is even messier than cutting.

You'll still need to do the routing and sanding. It would be pretty hard to route the edges ahead of time and insure that everything mated absolutely perfectly. I have a shaper table and still use a hand router after it's complete. Learned the hard way.
