My first bass was a Hofner copy and my second bass was a real Hofner ... not too long and I ended up with a 1968 4001

Geddy has literally hundreds of basses. Not sure if he’s ever played his Hofner on anything - might be wall art for him.
So, the answer appears to be lots of folks besides Paul.
Caught Wilco a couple months ago and they opened with Handshake Drugs, and Stirratt was playing the Hofner on it. Sounded great, but he went to the Jazz bass for the next tune and stayed with it all night.
New Haven, CT. That was the first time I ever saw them, and I'll definitely be making an effort to see them again. I expected them to be good, but they surpassed that by miles.Where did you see them? I caught the August show in Newport KY. Same bass lineup there with a Handshake Drugs opener as well. Really excellent show. I've seen them a few times since 2005 and this may have been the best time yet... Although the whole night was pretty perfect, so maybe it was a little bit of surrounding circumstances that biased my view on the show
He had a Hofner solidbody he used back in the earliest days.Geddy has literally hundreds of basses. Not sure if he’s ever played his Hofner on anything - might be wall art for him.
And never played a note on a recording and put his bass on tracks as soon as it was feasibleIIRC the Grassroots lead singer was a bass player who used an olive Höfner.
Are you serious or just joking about Bob Daisley ?
Flabba Holt, Robbie Shakespeare , and a young Aston Barrett, all reggae players.

This 1963 Hofner was used by Bob Daisley to record Ozzy's "Flying High Again".

I’m not either and I only knew it because he used one on the last tour for the earliest stuff.I'm not a huge Rush fan - all I ever heard was he started with a P. I stand (actually, sit) corrected.
From Bob's own website. He has his basses displayed with good info on most. Click on the Hofner in the middle of the page.
