No necessarily. There are businesses that cut employees slack that are no longer as capable as they once were due to age or disability. They value their past contributions enough not to be the a-hole boss who tosses the people who got the company where it is. That is what we talking about with Maiden, not about keeping a failing new hire around for no good reason.There aren't many bosses in any business that will keep a substandard employee.
