broken backline 115 amp on the floor

...More amps than basses if the broken one counts ;)

Frankensteined 1x15 from a GK Backline 115 combo with an Eminence 600watt 4Ohm speaker. Enough room where the head used to be to put in an old Sunn horn maybe...

Anytime I get new amps or speakers, I sell the old one. I try to get a rig that can do everything, that's not too terribly big.

I had a Yamaha 1x15 100w combo in HS. Sold that and got a
GK MB150E 112 combo for college. Sometimes played through an extension cabinet if there was one in the room. Got an Eden 2x10 XLT and GK 400RB, and used that for a long time. Just now upgraded to a Thunderfunk and Aguilar GS 212. I could see using that rig for an even longer time. It meets all my needs. I'm sure a WW Ultra through Bergantino HT322 would meet all my needs even better, but I'm a satisficer, not an optimizer.

The Eden D210 XLT is actually for sale RIGHT NOW!!!!! It has one blown speaker. PM me.

Down to six amps at the moment, and 8 cabs.

I guess since most people are listing their rig instead of just the amp, I need to update. I used to have multiple and big rigs, but as I grow older and play fewer gigs (especially anything that requires an 8X10 or something like that) I decided to narrowing it down to one "multi-purpose" rig.

I went with a QSC PLX 1202 as it has plenty of power for my Bergantino HT112 cab. I use an Avalon U5 for a preamp/DI, Blue Max Compressor and if I need some dirt, a SansAmp BDDI. I've done everything from a jazz quartet gig on upright to a 10 piece funk gig with a 5 string. It handles them all just fine.

To be honest, I just don't see the NEED for a huge rig any more, no matter what the gig or venue. If you need volume, you have a PA. The stage volume of most bands is WAY to loud anyway. It messes up the FOH mix. There may be a few situations that "REQUIRE" a big rig, but I think if we're all really honest, we could get by very well with much smaller rigs.

Let the flaming begin.

Yeah, I agree. I should start taking it into consideration. Especially since I am going to be getting a new amp setup in the near future.

I felt that way for a while. I now find myself doing largish bars with no PA support. My previous rig was loud enough, if you stood right near the band, but did not project to fill the room. So, I have a slightly bigger rig. 2x12 instead of 2x10. 400 watts instead of 240. It's still pretty small compared to what I read around here.

I think a 2X12 and 400 watts is still pretty ralistic, portable and sensible.
