Is anyone else frustrated with this new website?

Solution
I've just joined so I don't know any different, only seems hard for me because theres so many posts!

Welcome! There are a few ways to help with that. There's a search function at the upper right if you're looking for something specific. You can also use the drop-down menu with "Forums" at the upper left to narrow down (I just go to "new posts" most of the time), or click "forums" itself to get the list of topical forums. Hope that helps.
I've found some challenges using the new website too. I'm not certain anything was wrong or broken, just not where I wanted them to be or where I was used to seeing them. Then again, I also found some challenges the first few weeks after being forced off a flip phone and onto a 'smart' phone.
This idea that complaints are not welcome is not entirely true. If one just wants to pound away on a keyboard whining about what they don't like, yeah that isn't going to be welcome, but I don't think that is unique to TalkBass. Many folks find that kind of whining to be difficult to put up with altogether.
Constructive criticism, bug reports, feature/enhancement request, 'how do I?' questions and the like are fine.

I don't mind saying that I spend way less time on TalkBass now because of the new design. Everything takes more clicks to do. Searching for a particular brand or keyword in the classifieds used to be easy and intuitive, now everything takes more clicks to do and I get results from 5 years ago because I have to remember to go down to the very bottom to sort the results by date. That's just one small example. The layout is more cluttered and endless notifications vy for my attention. I get that it was time for a revamp, but as most bass players eventually discover, newer is seldom better.

Agree with what you're saying. I find it to be very clunky and difficult to navigate. I too spend less time here.

Yes, no, kinda...... I don't go to where I used to. But I'm not spending any time looking around this site. I see whats the latest posts and see if I have anything to add to that conversation. If not, I move on to other things. Now I will say, if you wanna find something specific within the site. Meaning to research a question you have..... FORGET-ABOUT-IT. Its best to open a new window, google it, THEN find the Talkbass inputs within Google search and then follow that back to the site. I've found the search capabilities of the site so non-functional they may as well not exist.

Search is my biggest gripe by far
This times 1000. The board is fine but the search functionality is the worst I have used. Perhaps I am just not seeing things but it seems like there is no way to organize or filter results. Searching a forum like the classifieds turns up tons of posts of sold items from 10 years ago before showing some active ones posted last week. Its frustrating.

On my phone I keep getting logged out of Off Topic and I can’t write anything. At my job we use Starlink and the site takes AGES to load and it never gets close to 100%, its the only site that gives me issues, you can open any site you want, even p*rnhub and things like that lol. (Both on safari and edge, phone and dekstop computer)..

I am utterly disappointed with the new website. I feel the fun of coming on here is totally gone and I'm left with nothing but frustration and annoyance.
Welcome to the world of GUI updates. While I understand why TB had to make the changes. I feel that understanding and navigating the new interface could have been handled better. They could have had a few more FAQs about what's what and how to figure out what's what.

But like everything else that has to do with technology. Whenever a major update happens sometimes you feel like you're a guinea pig beta testing something.

I'm sure if you spend a little more time with the interface it will become easier to navigate it. I've been a Talkbass member for a very long time. In fact, I thought back in the day when I first became a member was when they did have an smartphone app. IMO it was the best way to navigate the site. Sadly, that is long gone.

I agree with others who have said that the editing functions now are poor at best. I should be able to go back into any of my posts from any time to edit them if I made a mistake or if I found new information. I understand having that option turned off for classifieds because it would make it too easy for someone to go back in and and change their ad to add or remove information. But for regular posting I don't get it I'm sure there's a reason for it though.

Maybe I missed this, but can we no longer edit posts?

Oh I see it on this post, but I can't edit older posts. Is it time sensitive? That would stink, but I get why you might want to put a limit on it. I just didn't realize my terrible grammar when I posted something because I did it on my phone. When I looked at it on my computer, it wouldn't let me edit.
