Having zero issues at this point. It was wonky at first, but like anything, once the bugs were worked out it was just a matter of learning the new site.
It's different, that's for sure. It's hard after 22 years of the same basic layout. But I'm getting a bit used to it. It's like when I look back on Facebook memories when they did a lot of layout changes in the last 10-15 years. I had statuses complaining that I hated it, but eventually I got used to it.
This has been in effect for a few years now. It's time based. Here's Paul's thread announcing it. I don't know if the exact numbers have changed, but I know it's still a tiered system.
1- Is there any way to browse classifieds without scrolling through giant thumbnails?
There's an option for it there but it does something else. Choosing "List view" in preferences doesn't do it either.
2- I'd also like to hide the side categories/options from taking up a third of the page. Sorry guys but.. really?
3-Choosing the smallest font size in preferences "small" gives me a pretty large bold font for the thread title.
(edit: the 2024 theme fixes font size but what i don't like on 2024 theme is how those 3 dots on the upper right are supposed to be "more options" and guess what, no options.)
On the classifieds, what i'd like is to see a list of the items and to only see the picture if I click on the ad. (Kind of like it was).
Can any of this be fixed? thx

Number one I can help you with. There are three different views available for the classifieds. Hitting these buttons will toggle between them:
For number 2, unfortunately hiding the LEFT sidebar is not an option. We could possibly look into making it more narrow... I'm assuming you are on a desktop - does the three-dot menu at the top right give you the option to toggle the page width? If so can you toggle it wide to make some more on-screen realestate?
I do not think that having no pics on classifieds will be considered. The vast majority of internet users are so visual these days, IMHO not many would be interested in having no pics in the listing... I hope that the view options will help with your browsing?

I usually start with New Posts. The old version there were dozens of new post and and seeing the same ones when I log in a day or two later.

There are some inconsistencies within the 2 different themes but I'm able to figure some of it out. Such as the different view options you show above. There are three in total but it only shows two icons for me vs your three. Confusing, but not a real issue.
I switch between laptop and tablet.
The three dots (more options) only allow me to share this page or mark forums read. Neither are options.
Yes I'd like to adjust the real estate. maybe a simple slider to narrow up that left sidebar.
And for the no pics on classifieds, its about real estate. I prefer to scan through titles, not scroll through large photos, many of which I'm not interested in. Why not keep an option to keep link and thread separate? It's making me view every photo and well, I don't want that. Title scanning is a method that works well for many people.

Yes, it will come back. Classifieds filters are offline while a critical bug is investigated and fixed. It should be back this weekend.
I think the new post notifications changed. It is back to notifying me of every reply to watched posts instead of just one notification regardless of how many new posts there are. Not good.
