Just a silly Rant about pedal tuners.

Here's how most pedal users make it work:
Think of this as an overhead view of what we mean about the cables not needing to be crossed.

Do you play bass well? Do you have other marketable skills?

You and I are in the same club.....those who hope and pray we never have to depend on any graphic arts skills to pay the mortgage. :D

FWIW, I just set the tuner pedal on top of my amp. Guitar cord loops through my strap and through the side handle on my cab, then goes to the tuner input on its right side. I have a 12" jumper to run from the tuner out (left side of pedal) to the amp's input.

Cables are dressed well enough for me, that way.

When I want to tune, I just turn around to face the amp, push the tuner's button with my hand, and get it done.

When I play bass, I put the tuner on the floor directly in front of the amp. I don't use a pedal board in this situation. All cabling goes behind me - with a shorty cable from tuner to amp. Works well. I'm usually only tuning right before a set starts, so not a distraction or workflow issue. Also if I use wireless, I keep all the wires back by the amp and not underfoot.

Is it me or should Pedal tuners. ( Korg Pitchblack,Boss,Polytune etc etc) have the inputs switch sides? should'nt the input from the amp to the tuner be on the right side and the input to your bass to tuner be on the left side? would this make sense or am i just being weird?
Ya know Magic8161, I'm detecting a little snooty "boy are you a f'n idiot"itus around here.

And since I agreed with you I guess I am too.

Iam right handed as well but I really didnt think alot of bass players use pedal boards. I guess iam still in 1975...lol I still dont get why you would want the input from your bass guitar on the right side? your cable has to be crossed then.
I totally understand your complaint and have wondered the same thing for some time.

Why not just get a good headstock tuner and be done with it? That's what I use now and it's great. They make really good smaller ones now.

Beat me to it. The OP's solution is a CLIP ON TUNER. No cables, no mess. They have gotten extremely good. The Snark works well enough, but my Korg clip-ons are even better at tracking my low B (low Bb with my hard rock band).

I have had a Korg rack tuner for over 20 years (actually my oldest piece of gear). Never had an issue with it.
Call me old fashioned but a $10 piece of plastic attached to a chip-clip doesn't seem all that reliable.
