LET'S SEE YOUR CHRISTMAS GEAR !!!!

I did pay myself some pedals to build my dream pedalboard (ehx micro pog/ehx big muff pi bass/ehx neo clone/ehx neo mistress/ehx freeze)

I’ll post the result, on a pedal train metro 16, as soon as I completed it: as a stupid guy, I did buy a needed 6 inch cable, but forgot it on the shop desk.

My 2nd recording with my Zoom Livetrak L12

(yeah, I got carried away with the slides, but it is my first fretless. I’ll try to control myself in the future.....)

Jake

I just got the LiveTrak L-20 last week. I haven't recorded with it yet. Next weekend I'll be recording at band practice with it. For now though I've been running my bass into channel one, and audio from the computer into channel 20, and just playing along with a lot of old Aerosmith and tweaking around with the EQ and EFX busses while using headphones to listen to it all through. I'll probably record some play alongs this weekend so I can start getting all of that down. It's pretty simple to use actually. I definitely got the sound part of it down so far.

I picked this yesterday evening:

I bought a Hercules 6 guitar tree stand. I loaded it up with jazz basses for the photo op.

I've come to the conclusion there are better ways to keep 6 basses handy, but I used points to buy it basically for free. I have the 1,2,3, and 6 Hercules stands. The single is good, but I use the triple if I bring two basses for a gig...better balance.

I highly recommend the triple stand, but not this 6'er. It's not practical for several reasons.

My wife and I don't exchange Christmas presents anymore, though we sometimes use Christmas as the excuse to buy something for the house that we wanted but don't really need or to treat ourselves to a short getaway. And on my side of the family we only buy gifts for the kids (under 18) and the adults go into a pollyanna with a $50 max.

So I'm not expecting any gear for Christmas. However, I will be gifting some new gear. My Mom said that my Dad was hinting to her that Santa might buy him a new violin for Christmas this year and she decided to get it for him. So my brother, sisters, and I all told her we'll chip in to help offset the cost and I'm supposed to take him out to pick it out sometime next week. He's 92 and STILL gigging and, apparently, still suffers from GAS. It looks like my brother (he plays guitar) and I both inherited that gene from him. :D

This shows how out of touch I am with current photo gear. I didn't know that Sunpak marketed tripods. My compact tripod is a mid '80s Gitzo 226 with a 275 ball head and Hasselblad Tripod Quickfix adapter on it. I also have the longer 224 model that sports a RRS BH-40 head, and for heavier cameras, a Ries J100/J250 set. Cameras come and go, but good tripos are for life.

Love the look of that 6 bass stand. Makes me want one to put out as a Christmas tree complete with lights, topper and tree skirt.
