LET'S SEE YOUR CHRISTMAS GEAR !!!!

I literally just shared this on another thread, but what the hey:

None of my Xmas orders have worked out, even though I ordered in good time. I've talked to the sellers in question and will get reimbursed, but I will have very little under the tree. Booooooooooo

This shows how out of touch I am with current photo gear. I didn't know that Sunpak marketed tripods. My compact tripod is a mid '80s Gitzo 226 with a 275 ball head and Hasselblad Tripod Quickfix adapter on it. I also have the longer 224 model that sports a RRS BH-40 head, and for heavier cameras, a Ries J100/J250 set. Cameras come and go, but good tripos are for life.

That's my thought, Jeff . . . Buy once, cry once.

I’ve got one of these one the way, though I must say it’s taking it’s sweet time.

Thanks! Shame that I missed the sale window, I only found out about those Basses around Halloween. I do intend to put some labella beatle bass strings on it, but I’m going to try the stock rounds first as I got it to play in a garage rock project a buddy is starting up.

This year I got me a Novation Circuit Mono Station, which is quite a fun groovebox but I need to make space for it. Also got a few pedals and a couple of filter modules for my modular system.
I was tempted by that, but went for the Electribe Sampler. I eel like I'm going back too my roots with drum machines and Step Sequencers (I had Alesis MMT8 s in the 90). My whole musical journey started with a Bassstation Keyboard. Now I fancy he the Bassstation 2, damn they hit the nail on the head when they revised that.

That is a fantastic bass, Friend! Don't let her go, ever...
Funny. I sold My black StarBass, and was so bummed.
She noticed it, and went "shopping" for another.

I am so lucky to have Her.

I have more basses than I can Justify, and more guitars than I will EVER need.

She says... " You don't do drugs, and are a great Dad. Sooooooooooooo... why not have what makes You HAPPY."
Yep. I'm a lucky guy.

There is nothing wrong with round wound strings but my fingers rub them as l move up and down the frets making a nasty sound ... the smooth flats don't have that problem ... but many love the round sound ....

if you want a lower-cost alternative then try the Hofner Contemporary flat wound strings ... you can get a set from Reverb for around $25 with a few bucks for shipping .... l love them and have them on my Hofner Club bass and have LAbellas on my other violin basses... The Club basses have super smooth mellow sound that. with flats, really work with the 6s sound like the Beatles ... but also can work on all kinds of music... The Grote bass comes from Chaina and is made to the same dimensions as the Hofner Ignition (like mine) and my guess is it will sound very much like the Hofner Club. (not knowing the build quilty of the Grote),,,

Again, but l can"t be sure ... the Grote looks like it was made in the same factory as the Rogue VB100 Beatles bass... with the same looking tailpiece ... if so it should be a good bass that will have great tone ...

Do watch out for fret sprout ... that was my one problem with the Rogue ... l did need to file a few fret ends down a bit but it only took a few minutes to get it right ...

Well, due to stock issues, I was meant to be getting this fro Thomann. They pushed back to yesterday, and still not in. It will now be after Christamas, with a 20 day delivery and being held at Vietnamese Customs for Tax payment. Everything should be here for TET Holiday and my 46th Birthday at the end of January.

On the same order and in stock, I also have..

Damn, TC failed to meet the delivery date again the Thomann, and now they have no delivery date. My how order is on hold until the K210 is in stock, and they said 'maybe beginning of January'. Unlikely to make my Birthday and the two weeks annual leave for the country shutting down for New Year.
