Look what Talkbass has done to me.

I started buying more basses when I began to gig a lot. I guess I could just bring the same Precision to a country gig, a power pop gig, a motown thing or a 60's gig, but it's nice to have different arrows in the quiver, so to speak. If I only played one kind of music or didn't gig as often my purchases would be harder to justify.

Hmm let's see. Joined just after my 40th bday in 2016. Got my 7 string as the bday present, and must have lurked here for awhile first, so that counts. Got the Kramer last summer. So 40% of my bass collection came since reading on TB. Got the Minx since then too, so that's 33% of my amp collection since then. Got the Zoom 506II pedal to mess with too since then, and I've only got a few pedals anyway. I had 1 pro stand, 1 little DIY stand I used everywhere and folded up to fit in my case, 1 oak stand I made in HS shop class, and a bag and a hard case. The Kramer came with a pro stand, and I found another pro stand at a resale so I'm all set for now. Also got some NIB headphones for night practice.

The last piece of bass related gear I got was a DOD bass chorus pedal in about 2000 or 2001. Since then I got absolutely nothing (not even strings) for a decade and a half, until I started reading on TB.

Most of my basses and gear have been with me longer than any relationship, marriage, kid, house, job, vehicle... longer than anything except my bicycle and some childhood trinkets. Been playing a lot more lately, working toward improvement. Would love to be what I used to be. Much due to reading on TB. Bass is one of my only true loves. About time I started feeding it. After things I've seen lately, no telling how much time any of us has left.

Super nice looking collection.. I only had 4 when I became a TB member in 2012. I'm not far behind with another one on the way this week
