Markbass died. Only used it for VLE. Similar options?

Yep, the pre is fine. I haven't decided whether or not to bother with a repair of the power section yet, although the repair contractors are located pretty close to me. When I have some time, I'll at least get a quote from them, but I'm pretty sure I'd rather just try something else.

My initial idea was having it repaired and rehoused in a more space-saving enclosure. I might not after having been reminded of the existence of the Broughton stuff, but I gotta admit that the DI, boost, and tone section combo is pretty killer and I haven't got a CLUE why Markbass discontinued it. Well, one hypothesis, anyway. Maybe they figured it was too much of what makes a Markbass head great for too little money? :eyebrow::D

Makes perfect sense to me. Markbass no doubt would prefer for customers to purchase a complete head rather than something like the Super Booster. If I had your little gizmo I would have Roy Page bring it up to spec for me and then figure out how to integrate it into my rig. If you decide to get rid of it, I would like first dibs (presuming I can afford your asking price)! I love little projects like this. They take up way too much time and cash. But they're so much fun!

In the end, if it were me I'd have it fixed because I wouldn't trust the rest of it. But what I might look into is the possibility of separating the pre from the power module and re-housing that.

I thought the same. I've had the broughton and while I think it's good (so much so that I just re-bought another afte selling my first), I think the MB VLE sounds better; it might do more or have a different slope than the pedals.
