Walked into GC to get strings. Left with this. $1199 plus tax out the door. I’ve been a Fender guy my whole life. Do you think it’s worth keeping for the price? Or could I have done better buying used?

I've seen them for 800-900 on the used market. Generally around 1000. All depends if it's worth it to you. There is usually a bunch here in the classifieds. It's a sweet color though.

In my experience on TB, if someone gets a good deal, someone will post about better deals they know about, and that is just fine. The important thing is that the buyer is happy with what she or he purchased.

Indeed, but from Europe the most common reply will be “mine was twice as expensive”

All those great deals you guys have across the Atlantic. It just generates “envy” with us (Euro). ;-)

Well...I played Musicman exclusively for over 22yrs. (1980 Stingray purchased new), but I started craving a more organic sound and picked up a P Bass.
It was game over for me. Now I have 3 Fenders and a G&L JB2.
All passive instruments and I'm very happy. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Similar story here. I played a musicman sterling for twenty years. Then I paid off my debt and was making more so I bought a Rick and then a P. I sold the sterling and have never looked back.

I said yes, although personally I'm not sure I'd buy one new as much as I'd like to. I think it's a good deal for a new one, great choice in color! For me though I'd probably go used since I've heard you can find em for $900-$1000 all day...but that can be a crap shoot.
