I had a gold top Epi JC when they first came out and really liked it. Unfortunately, it was an ergonomic disaster for me with it's convex back up against my pot belly. ;^)
I have that problem too. Any time I find a bass I really like, I always have at LEAST two of them.
Lol! All of my basses are workhorses. They all gig at some point and time between my 2 bands and acoustic act. I always bring 1 Standard and 1 Eb bass to every gig. So now I get to decide which one of these gets tuned either way.Haha, ok I was gonna ask why you have essentially a totally redundant bass (colour scheme notwithstanding, of course!), but I think you've just answered that for me
Thanks!!Right on, that makes plenty of sense. I suppose you could always mess with string sounds too, for slight variation, if you'd want it. Well, you've got a mighty snazzy pair there. Enjoy!
Wow Bitchin!!Traded a fella for this last night for an American Standard Jazz that I just never loved. Now my gold top Jack Casady has a sibling. Also, the first two pics are the ones the guy sent me. I believe it had chromes on it. But, he had it strung with TI's, which is perfect, because all of my basses wear TI's.

You won’t regret itNice! A 20th Anniversary Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass is next on my wish list.
I have TI flats on both and they both sound pretty identical to me. I love the mod bar. I have one on my gold top and already have one on the way for the 20th anniversary! They’re sweet basses, for sure.I have that exact same bass. I love it. I Removed the pickguard so all that great flamed wine red maple shows. Tried some flats, but the stock Dean Markey Blue Steel rounds really make it sone alive best.
Somewhere I recall hearing that the pup on the 20th Anniversary model was redesigned from the original. Now you can test both and see it that’s true.
I moved the strap pin to the body horn like on a conventional bass, hangs better now, and I do wear it low off to the side a bit. When the strap pin was on the neck heel, it was hard finding a strap long enough, but since I moved the pin, no probs anymore.
I also added a mod bar to the bridge, I heard it was developed by a guy from TB.

Thank you! I’d love to have a black and a white one too!I had a black Casady for a while--such cool basses. I think that finish on your new one is the best looking of all of them. Super classy.
Ehh I had one. Didn’t like it.Nice! Now you just need a pair of Thunderbird Vintage Pros!
It actually came with a black one too. I prefer the white.Very nice! That's a beauty! It's the only bass model that I don't have that I want. Mine would be red like yours, but with a black PG.
