It actually came with a black one too. I prefer the white.

Even better!
The white looks great too, but I just can't stop looking at the E, reminds me of the Euro symbol.

I bought one of those..gold top version..when they first came out..at that time it was on sale at bass northwest for $550..I sold it a few years ago because I just couldnt get comfortable with the oversized body playing live standing up..but I must say..it had a really nice sound..plenty of low end and bell ringing highs..very straight and true neck that was easy to play..I just couldnt move it..or me..around on stage very well because of that big clunky body..even sitting around home and playing it sitting down..my right arm would always feel extra high on the instrument..and the non contoured body edge would dig into my leg..I guess I am so accustomed to playing a fender jazz for so long..nothing else feels as good for me..I do have a 1981 gibson victory artist bass which is basically shaped like a fender jazz only heavier which will always be my number 1..but because of the rarity..value..and love for that instrument..I dont take it out on the road..the fender jazz gets all the road work..its an american model but I have put seymour duncan quarter pound pickups and a babicz bridge on it..Traded a fella for this last night for an American Standard Jazz that I just never loved. Now my gold top Jack Casady has a sibling. Also, the first two pics are the ones the guy sent me. I believe it had chromes on it. But, he had it strung with TI's, which is perfect, because all of my basses wear TI's.

I can see where it would be uncomfortable to some people. I wear it a little higher than I would a P or J. But, it feels just right for me.I bought one of those..gold top version..when they first came out..at that time it was on sale at bass northwest for $550..I sold it a few years ago because I just couldnt get comfortable with the oversized body playing live standing up..but I must say..it had a really nice sound..plenty of low end and bell ringing highs..very straight and true neck that was easy to play..I just couldnt move it..or me..around on stage very well because of that big clunky body..even sitting around home and playing it sitting down..my right arm would always feel extra high on the instrument..and the non contoured body edge would dig into my leg..I guess I am so accustomed to playing a fender jazz for so long..nothing else feels as good for me..I do have a 1981 gibson victory artist bass which is basically shaped like a fender jazz only heavier which will always be my number 1..but because of the rarity..value..and love for that instrument..I dont take it out on the road..the fender jazz gets all the road work..its an american model but I have put seymour duncan quarter pound pickups and a babicz bridge on it..
I’ve a set of TIs laying around, I’ll have to string them up and give them a whirl.I have TI flats on both and they both sound pretty identical to me. I love the mod bar. I have one on my gold top and already have one on the way for the 20th anniversary! They’re sweet basses, for sure.
Ehh I had one. Didn’t like it.
Nice! A 20th Anniversary Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass is next on my wish list.
You won’t regret it
Good!Man, you've just raised my GAS/BAS level a few notches!
I agree on the quality. I have two newer Les Paul guitars also. They’re both great! The Cherry Red finish is and always will be my favorite! Also, as stated by others: Epiphone's quality control of late, has been kicking some serious butt!
Is that bar helping out in the tone department? Never seen such a thing.I have that exact same bass. I love it. I Removed the pickguard so all that great flamed wine red maple shows. Tried some flats, but the stock Dean Markey Blue Steel rounds really make it sone alive best.
Somewhere I recall hearing that the pup on the 20th Anniversary model was redesigned from the original. Now you can test both and see it that’s true.
I moved the strap pin to the body horn like on a conventional bass, hangs better now, and I do wear it low off to the side a bit. When the strap pin was on the neck heel, it was hard finding a strap long enough, but since I moved the pin, no probs anymore.
I also added a mod bar to the bridge, I heard it was developed by a guy from TB.

It definitely helps with sustain especially with strings that have silks. Without this bar, the silk ends sit In the saddle. Is that bar helping out in the tone department? Never seen such a thing.
