Nephew Of Mothman. NiD

I really love the bridge. I cant wait to begin the intonation process. All adjustments are potentially there. The simple engineering of it really makes me smile.

Agree. That bridge is an amazingly clever piece of work. Whoever did it is a good person to know if ever comes the day when the bombs drop.

Rather brilliant using hinged pieces (ok…actual hinges) to handle the string height adjustment. I like it so much I’ve half a mind to build a duplicate just to play around with it.

The pupal stage!

The Mothman laid eggs...

It looks like it's evolving.
Wont all the fools be sorry about what theyve said when it emerges from its cocoon .

Now that has got to be one of the most awe inspiring “hardware store and scrapwood heap” instruments ever made! The only thing that could possibly make it any more impressive is if you found some sheetrock used somewhere in its construction.

That’s what I call a true American original collectible!:cool:

I think i pee'd myself a little over the sheetrock remark!

I'm a little stressed that nobody has asked about nut width.

So now I need to
1 weigh it
2. measure nut width
3. have a tort gaurd made
Good thing the tapewounds I have lined up are flats! (yes, tapes count as flats in this case)

Nephew of Mothman tried to eat my son. I had to pull him from its sinister jaws

Oh, I always assumed "nut width?" was a rhetorical TB question, is that a real thing? I wouldn't weigh or measure or even intonate that rock'n'roll weapon of mass destruction. Just plug and play.

So, do you plan on fully fretting it?
Yes.
We'll see if it works out that its possible.
There is NO truss rod!! (thus the low tension tapewound goal)
I think the fretless route is a when'all'else'fails approach, last ditch effort.
I like the idea of tearing frets off of the donor Pbass and re using them.

Thats the ticket!
I am compelled by dark forces to intonate this thing. I mean, THE BRIDGE!!! If I dont USE the bridge to intonate it and set the action, then why have that bridge, may as well be just a pencil shoved under the strings if I dont. Nephew of Mothman bids me to intonate, and thusly, I must have frets.

This is the donor.
It has become a piece of garden art for the last few years, living in the bushes year round.
It still has some decent parts to give, but frets werent what i had originally thought to harvest from it. Now, it seems quite fitting to do such an organ transplant .
Its so ridiculous at this point...

Dang! I started a thread about Halloween gigs the other day. You have outdone me on anything scary! Where do you keep conjuring those up from? What are you really up to? Dang!
