I'm very interested in the Studio 40 myself and have been reading through the owner's manual. As far as the Wi-Fi goes, it sure looks as if you are only to have it on when doing updates; making programing changes and other selections. When you're done with that you turn it off to play. That isn't stated that way specifically, but it seems to be inferred.
I've only auditioned a Studio 40 one time for about an hour and had absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Linnin - good to see you on this thread. I thought about posting my Rumble Studio 40 info on the Rumble club thread, but thought it might get buried so I started this one.

I am enjoying the Studio a lot. I still have a Rumble 40, too, but the Studio is getting my playing time these days. The effects are generally good, but I am most enjoying dialing in a bunch of different clean tones on different amp and cab sims. I think you’re right about the WiFi - I leave it off and have no issues.

My big rig consists of a Mesa D800+ and a Darkglass 500 sitting on a Rumble 210 cab and Rumble 112 cab. I made new grills for the cabs using 8mm black metal and replaced the chrome cab corners with black ones. I’ll upload photos in a couple of days...

BTW - do you know if Fender discontinued the 112 cab? It seems like fewer online retailers are carrying them.

Tah-Dah! :D I understand exactly what you mean, and there may come a day when there is a separate Studio & Stage club dedicated to exploring new settings, and general help for those like me that are digitally challenged. ;) It may take some time but I think these amps are really going to take off big time. I believe the Studio 40 will find its way on top of a variety of non-Fender class D amps being used as pre-amps offering tremendous versitility and also replacing expensive pedalboards.

Yes. I forget just who it was that called Fender and found out that they are discontinued. Whatever cabinets are in the retail supply line is all there are.

The good news is that Fender is going to release a matching 210 cabinet to pair up with the Stage 800. :woot::woot:

Yes. I forget just who it was that called Fender and found out that they are discontinued. Whatever cabinets are in the retail supply line is all there are.

The good news is that Fender is going to release a matching 210 cabinet to pair up with the Stage 800. :woot::woot:

Hmm...I think the 112 cab is pretty nice. Wonder why they discontinued it.

Here’s a pic of my Studio 40 with a metal grill, and a photo of the 210 and 112 cabs (still working on the 112 grill).

I really like those metal grills you made. Can you tell me how you did that? Type of metal, mounting, rolled edges or not, etc. I would like to do that on mine.

The metal grills came from Parts Express:

8mm grill - Parts Express Ships Fast and Ships Free.

I just bought the flat sheets, cut to fit, created a frame from 3/4” x 3/4” wood from Home Depot (painted it black), screwed the grill onto the frame, stapled Velcro to the back of the frame, stapled a nylon pull tab to the bottom of the frame...done!

Ok, I think with WiFi off issue'd be fixed. Good.
My delear'd take it in may so I can try it and decide if replace or not my rumble 40 v3.
Just a question.
Master volume is effective on all preset but do the same also bass/middle/treble knobs?
So when I select a preset can I modify its bass/mid/treble on the fly with phisical knobs ?

Yes, but remember the tone controls are programmable and not fixed. So when you change amp models, you get that amp's tone controls and you really have to keep your wits about you. It's an intellectually demanding amplifier.

- load a preset
- modify on the fly
- change preset or shutdown ampli
- loose all tone modification

Btw it's a "studio" amplifier, not a live "ready to go and modify" ampli...
Two different concepts...
Just a doubt if this mode could work well on the bigger brother stage 800... I can accept it on a small home gig...not sure on a stage amplifier...

I think the amp works for both studio and stage (though you’d need to mike it).

Think of the presets this way: you can create presets for your playing situation, but you can still easily adjust gain, bass, mid, treble and overall volume with knobs just as you would on any other amp. Also, you can turn preset effects on or off with a single button. Also, the 4-button footswitch works with this amp.

Forgot to mention XLR out that is also useful for live use

Going through the owners manual shows how to build a set list of presets. So you have your sound catalog ready for your show. All dialed in perfectly. You just select them as you play.

Stereo XLR outs at that! Plus stereo FX loops. Such a crazy great little amp. Sound like a million bucks for only $350. Amazing.

Agreed. I have the 112 cab sitting under the 210 cab. Adds some low end girth but is VERY clear and has a wide tonal spectrum. I generally leave the tweeter on...need to try it with a P Bass with the tweeter off and compare it to the 210 for that use. For slap tones with a Jazz Bass, I think it’s as punchy as the 210.
