The strings are La Bella "purple haze" limited gold white tapes that I already had.
I think I need a neck tweak, GC pulled it back a scoche too far.
That is fantastic, awesome, and superb, all rolled into one. My kudos to you for going with the HH: IT is the most powerful weapon there is! Now many spout their love of the "H" and its imaginary "sweet spot"- I say BLEND, you cads!!
(Btw- I have the finest 4HH Bongo in the Universe really.)
Lots of new stuff coming out all the time, but the Bongo really is an amazing bass. I did a session with mine yesterday and wondered why I EVER put it down (oh yeah, because I have other wonderful basses too)
GREAT finish, what is it? And those string look interesting too. I was given a few sets of balanced strings by Pete Skjold to try out, and I must say-they are amazing.
As far as your forthcoming report- I can tell 'ya right now- You and your bandmates are gonna have your Worlds ROCKED.
Congrats & Enjoy.
Cool, & the spoke-wheel truss rod is a thang of beauty to use,
Forgot to ask...what's up w/ the black hardware? I don't think I've seen that on a Bongo; is it a Stealth?? Finish looks purple-ish tho....
Spoken like someone who has never experienced the magnificence that is a single H Bongo. Pffffft. That is fantastic, awesome, and superb, all rolled into one. Awesome on all counts! As I understand, this is a NAMM recipe ordered by GC. Its one of a dozen. The color is actually a grapey mettallic different from the Firemist, stealth hardware and the lovely roast birdseye + ebony.
Im a sucker for special editions.

OP, sweet bass - love that color!
Man, that's a great color. Thanks for the gas....
I love my HH, best sounding bass I've ever played.
Yes, but... I OWNED a Bongo H. Sold. How you like 'dem apples?? They are Good, very good,- but no cigar,
cigar being the absolute superiority of the HH.
C'mon
C'mon
C'mon!!!
Since when is (1) better than (2)?
And I am not convinced that a few mm's of pickup spacing position can produce a Holy Grail of Sweet Spot magnificence.
Not more than a Blend Control can.
AAAAnnnd- Oh yeh, a 4-band eq. MyMyMy!
Pffffffffft yourself.
EDIT:
And if you say "Big Poppa likes these best!" I will have you arrested by the HH Police!
Uh oh, a GC near me has a Bongo 5 HH with roasted maple neck in stock....
There is no way I can let myself go in that store
I've been playing my SR H and P bass exclusively for a year, I guess it's time to break out the Bongo HH!
Your argument is invalid, because Big Poppa likes them best.Yes, but... I OWNED a Bongo H. Sold. How you like 'dem apples?? They are Good, very good,- but no cigar,
