Lots of new stuff coming out all the time, but the Bongo really is an amazing bass. I did a session with mine yesterday and wondered why I EVER put it down (oh yeah, because I have other wonderful basses too

GREAT finish, what is it? And those string look interesting too. I was given a few sets of balanced strings by Pete Skjold to try out, and I must say-they are amazing.

The strings are La Bella "purple haze" limited gold white tapes that I already had.
I think I need a neck tweak, GC pulled it back a scoche too far.

Forgot to ask...what's up w/ the black hardware? I don't think I've seen that on a Bongo; is it a Stealth?? Finish looks purple-ish tho....

I do lots of honkey front pickup stuff, so the solo H wont do. Besides, this was a rather "unplanned" purchase off the rack.

As I understand, this is a NAMM recipe ordered by GC. Its one of a dozen. The color is actually a grapey mettallic different from the Firemist, stealth hardware and the lovely roast birdseye + ebony.
Im a sucker for special editions.

Yes, but... I OWNED a Bongo H. Sold. How you like 'dem apples?? They are Good, very good,- but no cigar,

And I am not convinced that a few mm's of pickup spacing position can produce a Holy Grail of Sweet Spot magnificence.
