New Bongo Day. Pics!

Your argument is invalid, because Big Poppa likes them best. ;)

BONGO 4HH POLICE !

I warned you!

Okay, neck's better, intonation improved. String height numbers on the ebmm web site seem kinda high. Anyone get them significantly lower?

That set you're using, seems like a pretty thick gauge(s).
There's an abundance of good choices. I generally go 40-100, (light, for my touch) but the Skjold Balanced set, wow-Highly recommended especially IMO for a Hi-Fi bass like Bongo.
You might want to give them a look-see when that set gets old.

Niiiiiiiiiixe. So glad to finally see a Firemist Purple Bongo outside of a stock photo. And this is configured exactly the way I'd want one

I dont beleieve this is Firemist Purple. Guitar Center ordered a dozen based on a NAMM bass.

<looks again> I suppose it could be firemist, or a prototype for the color prior to production, but it does look like a different shade to me. There is a color reference to "Bartolo" on the p.o. but I cant be certain

I miss my Bingo 4HH. Music Go Round gave me more than I played so it was easy and o my had to put minimal out of pocket for my Modulus Q5 SS.

I'm thinking a 5HH or 6HH are in my future.

Purple is my fave, so you have me drooling over here.

Honestly miss my Bongo so deeply.

Congrats

H, HH — can’t we all just get along?

OP: Beautiful bass my friend. One advantage of the roasted maple neck (and the rosewood necks, too) is you won’t suffer the ubiquitous headstock paint chip that nearly every painted-neck Bongo acquires in time.

I played a few Bongo's at NAMM one year what really sticks in my memory about them was how long it took me to explore how many different tones they could get! ;)

I hear you, I pretty much bought an entire new rig when I purchased mine... it was a journey for sure.

I really liked the HH configuration and honestly I almost always left it centered or favored the neck pickup, never had a neck pickup be so juicy yet clean.

Beastly, I will have another. Just gotta wait for the right one.

Sure, when the secret-club handshake boyz at the Single-H Farm admit to their "HH-Envy" issues!:roflmao:
