New Bongo Day. Pics!

It’s missing a string. :D

Nope! This one ain't missing a thing.

Fretted Fours for me, all the time, all the way.

Low B? Only more cost & time changing string sets.
Don't need-Don't want- Don't Miss.
That's me!

Worked with a gui****ist once who told me I needed a Fiver. I told him he needed a 7-string guitar a la George Van Eps.

Our new family member, Amy, is thankful for all the love on this thread. Its obvious to me tha HH Bongo Owners and Lovers are the finest subset of the Talkbass Community.

Fixed it fer 'ya....I KID I KID! Single H is fine, really. (HH is better tho)

OK enuff I'll stop. Did you not say your going to play with your band tomorrow? THEN you'll be up-lifted to dimensions heretofore unknown, if you haven't used a Bongo-in-a-Band.

Mine is a 2008 that I've owned for over 5 years and no headstock ding, but that's because I got a new neck for it about 3-4 years ago : )

Was there a problem with the neck/ and or truss rod? I take it you had to send the old neck to EBMM and they sent you a replacement? How much did it cost if you don't mind me askingm

Oh Yeahhhhhh!
(Said like Louis Armstrong...)

Played my Bongo 5 HH all day yesterday. First, I realized that I have Slinky on the Bongo and Super Slinky on the Stingray so I'm already comparing apples and oranges and have to restring the Bongo. I'm wondering if the tighter strings on the Bongo are preventing me from getting the fat, swampy Stingray tone. Can anybody speak to string gauge impacting the swamp sound? Nevermind the Neo pole pieces vs Alnico on the Stingray.

The Bongo is definitely more comfortable on my fretting hand than the Stingray. Same nut and bridge so I'm not sure what's different. The HH Bongo is noticably lighter than the H Stingray, the slightly smaller body sits on me better and the neck angles up more with the bongo, and I like that. Not sure if it's the slightly shorter upper horn.... the reach caused by that little difference used to bother me but it didn't yesterday. The Bongo has many sounds and IS very comfortable. I'm going to have to mess around some more and change strings at some point.

Yeah the original had some really bad stability issues. Would need constant, frequent truss adjustment, rendering the instrument almost unplayable once I couldnt tighten the truss anymore. Called EBMM cs, and yeah sent them my bongo so they could replace it with a brand new neck. I think it cost about $500 and took about a month. The new neck has been holding fine ever since.
