New Fender Bass?

Welcome to the age of nuevo retro.

To those of you who wouldn't consider this bass because of the way it looks: Are you bass players or art connoisseurs? Or just goofy?
I'm a bass player and nothing else. And I maintain what I said earlier. And I would say the same about tho Musicman Sabre, Cutlass basses.
To me and instrument must look at least fine for me to play it.

Curtis Novak Bi-Sonics are AMAZING! I'm not into reliced basses at all but apart from that it looks great! Probably not the most comfortable with the binding but it's the first new(ish) design from Fender that I've liked in a very long time! Personally I'm not prepared to pay CS prices for something like this but if it was a production model at a reasonable (meaning MIM or Squier) price I would be very interested. Obviously the pickup alone puts it out of a Squier price range but I'm sure they can make pretty good Bisonic pickups in China too...

I wouldn't consider it because it LOOKS like it would neck dive worse than a Thumb or T Bird.
I like the tinted neck, pick up and bridge.
I look forward to Fender stepping out and designing something outside of the P&J box, but this, to me, is a "swing and a miss".

I guess that's your prerogative. I'm just glad Bobby Vega, Lee Sklar and many other great players don't feel that way about their ugly but amazing-sounding basses, or we'd be missing out on some great recordings.

Maybe they didn't think they looked bad?

With so many choices, playing a bass you think is ugly is just goofy.
