New Fender Bass?

I guess that's your prerogative. I'm just glad Bobby Vega, Lee Sklar and many other great players don't feel that way about their ugly but amazing-sounding basses, or we'd be missing out on some great recordings.
I like me some ugly bass :)

Not my bag but I’m happy they’re trying something new. I could see it selling a few if they keep it around $1200 tops.

I still don’t understand why relic is a thing though.

You expect them to sell a custom shop bass for 80% of what they charge for an off the shelf MIA instrument? Never mind the relic job and upgraded pickup...

Yeah, and I want to buy a new car for $5000.

I think it's nice that they're stepped out a little bit. Of course, none of us will buy it because (a) it's a CS model and probably costs more than one of those snazzy Buick SUVs and (b) it's not a Precision or Jazz.

It reminds me of something. Didn't Ibanez have a body shape vaguely like that?

Sure, I could see spending up to $1,500 for it.
$3,000 plus?
Not when I can get a better custom for less.

Instead of this thing Fender should of done an affordable version of a 62 Pbass with a Rosewood board..

Nah, I'd just tear it up like, like I did this one:

Defretted.
Guild and Jazz pickups added.
Phase switches added.
String through the body added.

Other than that, a stock '62 P bass with a rosewood board :)

due to technical difficulties, i wasnt able to listen to the OP demo til just now.....

Just what the world needs: yet another P-bass variation, except this one is artificially aged to look like an instrument that never existed 40+ years ago........
