I was strolling through the Spotify playlist woods a few few months ago and fell down a Polish punk rabbit-hole. I had no idea punk was so big in Poland. From what I understand, in the 80's, there was a huge rebellion against Russian control and labor unions. Maybe someone can elaborate, as I am not a history buff.
Anyway, punk is big there and it is a warm change from the Emo, California style punk in the states. I am not saying there is no good hardcore bands in the states, but the Polish really take their punk seriously. If anybody has gone down this rabbit hole, you are welcome to share. I might be alone on this thread, as this music is not well known in the states. Anyway, here is a few bands that when I heard them, I was like WOW, now THIS is heavy.

I will post some more later and feel free to comment or post anything that you like.

Hey man, I'm the bass player for TZN Xenna which was active from 1981 'till 1983, and then again from 1984 to 1987. They reformed in 2011 and I've been with them since 2013. I recorded the LP "Czart PRLu" and currently we're taking our time working on our third album.

If you need help with anything regarding Polish punk, I've been in the thick of it for the last 20 years, so hit me up if you have any questions, etc.

(I'm also in 21A and Tasiemka, but both are wave-y, post-punk bands, something which here in Eastern Europe we're also well known for)

Here's a news report with TZN Xenna in 1982 from NBC News:

I have a hiker buddy that does a playlist that he publishes on Facebook - I think it's called Oil Spills Across the Internet, name of Ron Lacer - he digs up punk form all over the globe. He used to run a punk rock record label in the '80's and '90's out of Boston.

It's pretty interesting: www.youtube.com/@OilSpillsAcrosstheIntern-ep9uk

Excellent! I really like your band. I follow you guys on Facebook. I heard Wielki Las Post Regiment and some Mokswa basslines, and it was all over a while back.

Thanks for the music and willingness to help out. My birthday is Sunday, if you guys could just pop over to Austin,Texas and do a show TZN Xenna, that would be great ;).
I may get to Poland one day!

Those are some excellent playlists Ron is excavating. I pretty much do the same thing. I even did a semi-comedic, seven part compilation of telephone "On Hold" music, . .Best Of. . On Hold
reminiscent from the 60's-80's....Among other deep dive compilations. Thanks for the links!
