I would like to see a reissue that had the specs of a mid 70s rosewood neck. Give me the 7.25" raduis and the deep neck. I honestly don't care if the body's alder or ash.

At 1.615” nut width, the mendel neck is one of the slimmest precision necks fender has made, besides the ones that are jazz width with a precision decal, of which there aren’t many.
It’s also hard to find a 7.25” radius precision neck that is under 1.7” wide at the nut. You’d have to look to MIJ heritage precisions for that. And those are 1.65” at the nut.
Mendel and harris basses have 1.615” nut width, 7.25” radius and early 70s fender logos with the patent decals. Some people like and want that.

The Nate Mendel bass is definitely in the ballpark of a 70's reissue. But, I think what most folks here are looking for is a US made 70's reissue similar to the guitar options in the AV II line eg. 73 Strat, 72/75/77 Tele, etc.

I would love to see a high quality reissue of either a 70-75 with TV logo OR a 76-80 with a narrow san serif logo, skunk stripe, that isn't an 11lbs. boat anchor. Bonus points if they come with the oil rubbed neck like the US Geddy Lee Jazz.

Not really. Take away the trinkets and it is just another P Bass. I didn't notice anything unusual or different about the body contouring, and the rest is just off-the-shelf stuff you could put on any P Bass.

Another interesting take! Especially when considering the details of specs, which again reveal that the neck, body contour, pickups, bridge, road worn lacquer finish, and nearly every piece of hardware are completely different from an off the shelf MIM P Bass.

I can’t even begin to imagine why anyone would consider a road worn lacquer finish no different than hi gloss poly?

But as said, the Mendell Bass is not the 70s reissue implied by this thread, but an example of this type of bass.
