Just found a promo from my first few months with Redhead way back in 2015. BL had some reasoning for this, damned if I can remember why. It doesn't make any sense at all. Lakland Darryl Jones bass was stolen not long after this picture was taken.

That hurts! What a stellar bass!

It was real nice. And I was insured, because it was stolen out of my house. Anyway, I've moved on to Lakland USA. I now remember what was going on: She'd read some foolish survey on the web that told her I was "the monster under her bed." Clearly not the case!

PS: I'm not gone yet! Probably got 8-10 gigs left to play before the new guy kicks in, assuming he wants the job. Sitting here in limbo...

Gotta leave ‘em wanting!

Wait! Here's a classic: Halloween 2016 at Da Bird. Within 10 minutes I was bathed in sweat. Took it off at the end of the first set. It smelled so bad when I got home I threw it in the trash.

Haha Classic!
reminds me of about the same year when I wore a Halloween mask as we were playing a gig on 31 October (no photos unfortunately)
We were half way through the first song when I suddenly realised I couldn't sing any BV's with the mask on.... so off it came!

This isn’t actually embarrassing, it’s just old. 17 years ago in fact. The video was taken during a Bob Dylan Birthday Bash show being held at the Cafe Fantastique coffeehouse in Worcester, MA. It was inside a furniture store! Rotman’s Furniture had an ad slogan “It’s Fantastic”, thus the name of the venue. Free concerts of national “Americana” acts were presented there for a number of years, most of them simulcast over radio station WCUW-FM.

The clip is of the house band opening the show with a couple of tunes before backing up other Worcester performers doing their favorite Dylan tunes.

Sadly, Jeff Baskowski is no longer with us, he passed from cancer soon after this show and is sorely missed. In addition to flute, he played sax and piano in the band. Drummer Billy Nadeau moved to Texas about five years ago and the rest of the band did our final annual Dylan Bash show this year, handing it off to some younger performers.
