Singular Audio Tubedrve Pedal

Hi all, saw some traffic from this website so decided to pitch in.

I never saw the Sushi Box FX designs before so it's definitely not cloned or inspired by that.

The only thing it could be inspired by is the Thermionic Culture Vulture, a 19" device which adds glorious saturation. But the design and pedal adaptation is entirely my own work and cost me many, many hours ;)
Welcome! Loved the demos I heard and had to let all of Talkbass know!

I'm tempted.
I theory, I don't need it, but I love the sound of the demo, especially with the pentode setting.

I'll keep watching this thread, hopefully if one of you order it, I'd like to read customer feedback.
Well I just went to order one and I'm getting a message that says they're currently sold out. Will have to try another time, although it says there's currently two in stock

Hey, yeah I had to reconfigure the website a bit as there were some bugs with my Wordpress theme happening... There are indeed two pedals left in stock.

You should be able to order one a bit later.

I'm really interested in this - you don't see many people give the option for triode/pentode operation. That's typically laid out on amps for a "half power" option.

By the way everyone, there's a bass guitar demo...

P.s. the bias control basically controls the clipping character of the tube. To the left has more asymmetrical clipping and to the right more symmetrical. I've chosen a sweet spot for the majority of the demos since most people will be using it that way (most symmetrical clipping), but I do showcase it with drums in some other demos.

I had someone build a small power section with the ability to gradually introduce triode into pentode, I can attest it changes the character very much, especially if pushed hard and adding feedback. The output also changes.

(the gain isn't actually a gain, it more so just pushes the power stage harder. I had it made for inserting power stage resonance only)

Does this pedal handle line level signals well?, this would be nice in a mains powered unit too.
The bias control and the option to switch from triode to pentode modes reminds me of the Morph control in the Broughton Power Stage.

Count me in as curious enough to give it a try.

(On an unrelated note….I’ve not stuck my head in here for a while, and the new format….isn’t great….)
This is where the idea of the "morph" started for me, but there's a big difference in tetrode <> pentode (what Broughton's Power Stage is) and triode <> pentode. It is easier to blend using tetrode instead of triode, but I found triode/pentode to be much less noise

(I agree 1000% on the site, hence the 3 dupe attachments, and the fact I can't "attach from previous" apparently..)

Yes, there is a 'line level' input mode and a 'gtr level' input mode on a switch.

Basically just a 20-25dB boost switch.

Designed it this way since I personally would want to use it for both tracking as well as recording keys or mixing.

6J2P or 6AS6? main page states 6AS6, tech sheet states 6J2P (just looking into the tube type, I see it will take both)

First impressions are excellent.

Prefer pentode mode, more emphasis on low mids, a little more compression and interesting harmonic complexity, so it brings the sound “forward”. It also approaches the feel of power amp distortion in some respects. The trade off is slightly increased noise (but it’s only slight).

I actually find it better without the boost where I have it in my setup (and that’s with passive basses), as it gives me finer control with the sweep of the drive and bias pots to find sweet spots.

A really nice piece of work.

Got mine in yesterday; really liking the fullness that it brings to your sound; works incredibly well hitting amp models in the HX Stomp, brings the mid content and grit you'd expect an amp to have to the 1's and 0's. I'm digging the triode setting, works great as a gritty boost or an always on saturator. Excited to use it in mixing as I know it'll shine in that environment as well. The pentode setting definitely has a low mid bump and a cool raspy high end
