Spring is just around the corner

Y'know, there are times when being a dog and not having to wear pants turns into a real problem instead of an asset. And having to go outside in the snow to pee just isn't my idea of a good time. I have gotten all soft and lazy since indoor plumbing got invented. Dogs don't get thick wool socks and waterproof boots, either. Getting to lie on the porch all summer hardly makes up for it.

My mom reported today from the northeast part of the Keystone State (PA) that overnight last night they busted an 'all time on this date' snowfall record of 19" at WB/Scranton Int Airport ... folks in the Pocono mountains got 25"! I don't miss it, but I kinda wish she knew how to take a share photos

I think it's cute when people in the south, southwest, or California complain about winter. It's like, man, you don't even have a clue.... You haven't been in cold weather unless you nose has frozen shut from breathing.

I lived in Miami for a while, and I got the biggest kick out of people when the temps dipped under 55 degrees in the winter. Parkas, guys and girls dressed up like Ralphie in the Christmas story, hats, scarfs, just plain silly. South beach brought about all sorts of silly designer winter wear. I swore I was in Vail at times....

Weather like that constituted wearing a long sleeve shirt, and was honestly only about 15 degrees cooler than most air conditioners were set in the summer.

To be fair, no doubt our Canadian friends snicker when us yanks start talking about cold weather as well, but they are just too polite to complain about it. ;)

The Frogs are out taking over the land. They are annoying the new housing development that went in behind me.
I like them.
ITS LOUD!
Hopefully their homeowners assn doesn't propose some radical poison or croaker relocation program. I see a lot of new neighbors moving into a neighborhood, and immediately trying to change it ... like the morons that rent above a bar that's been there for decades and then complain that the noise is too loud too late.

Moral of the story: Do your homework and check out your new potential place of residence at all times of the day and evening before committing.

I live under a very busy flight path to SeaTac airport, where often a plane comes in approximately every 30 seconds. They're far enough overhead to not be too loud, and they're kinda neat to watch ... even my cat is fascinated watching those big birds go over in the sky >^..^<
