As with any purchase, if it doesn't affect your ability to live (rent, mortgage, heat, etc.) then buy it. Honestly, most gear decisions aren't going to affect what the audience hears anyway. It's mostly for us and that's fine, too.
With the way things are these days, with so many bands (I didn't say all so relax) doing modeling/direct/iem set ups, amps just aren't as necessary. G.A.S. is a bitch though.
I didn't see what your gig situation is so if you need an amp, get it. If you really don't, than use/tweak what you have.
