Thanks to drunk ADULT FEMALE, my Genz-Benz cab died in middle of gig last night.

.
Maybe fine if the size and porting are close to the original NeoX 2 cabinets.

Of course it needs to be mentioned that they are NOT stock 12PR300's, and should not be represented as such.
Ya, Avatar clearly says the specs are different. Said they were good speakers, though. Sounds like you're not all that fond of them.
The avatar speakers are 16 ohms as far as I know
Avatar said they were 8.

The avatar speakers are 16 ohms as far as I know, so you probably wouldn't want to do a 112, if I'm understanding correctly. I have some, and they don't sound ampeggy at all. I like them though. I think they sound a bit growly when pushed hard, although it could be my jazz bass too ;-)

Nope. 8 ohms. The Avatar 12s are the NX2 drivers.

I hope you're not using them on a tube amp if you aren't sure of the impedance.

Man, a roadie, appearing out of nowhere from the dim recesses of the backstage, should have thrown himself over the pedals to save the day. Seriously, she is prolly one of those pedalphiles and seized the opportunity.
Does she belong to NAWPLA, the North American Woman-Pedal Love Association?

Yes, the damage would be internally to the speaker itself. Not visible.

That would be too cool though, if instead of burning up the coil, the speaker cone blew though the grill cloth!
As an aside, agedhorse, how many manufacturers have you worked for? I could tell from your posts that you were quite knowledgeable, but didn't know you were a designer in the industry. Glad you are a poster here. What a great resource.

Are any of you really serious about this boy-girl thing? I think its hilarious...Truly sad about the speakers , though! I work at a factory, and I usually refer to all my coworkers as "ladies " or "gentlemen" They usually take it to be Irony........

Regardless of the age issue regarding the female human - it's pretty incredible that you (OP) have a resource here who designed both the amp and cab you were using and could tell you specifically what went wrong and how you could address it.

Good, glad it's being made clear. I am quite fond of them actually, they were designed with some specific performance goals in mind which they achieved quite easily.

The series 2 platform was specified in both 8 and 16 ohm, though I would expect those (12" drivers) to be 8 ohm.

it's good having agedhorse here.

This ^^^^

Where else but TB would you get the first reply to your post being from the bloke (had to throw that one in) who not only actually designed both the amp and the cabinet but happens to have replacements at hand? Well done @agedhorse

Unfortunately, where else but TB would you also get 4+ pages of people arguing over the semantics of gender. Seriously, leave that crap to the social justice warriors forums.

Right on...well I'm thinking it's a bit too much of a crapshoot for me to try them in that cab for $130. The PF112hlf is a couple inches smaller all around than the Shuttle 6.2-112t cab, and you said it doesn't sound Ampeggy, which makes it right out :D I was thinking it might be a way to get a little higher power handling and not increase weight.

God, after reading that last sentence I typed, I think I need a TB vacation! I sound like all the other watt-squeezing nerds on here!

Yes, with this thread at 7 pages and counting, that particular response is what I'll remember. This is a great place to hang.
