Thanks to drunk ADULT FEMALE, my Genz-Benz cab died in middle of gig last night.

Regarding potentially making an insurance claim. Unless you have your gear specifically insured you're probably not going to have coverage for this.
First party claim.
If you have these items insured on their own policy or scheduled on a homeowners policy probably covered.
Under the contents coverage of your homeowners or renters policy probably not. Likely under your deductible for new speakers and if the contents coverage is named peril not covered at all.
Third party claim.
You would need to show negligence on the other party for there to be coverage, assuming you can find the person and they have insurance.
If someone made this claim to me some of the questions I would ask would be. You invited her to use your microphone, would an average person assume their was a valuable item that if stepped on could damage other valuable items near where one would stand to use the microphone? Isn't a pedal also called a stomp box, and isn't a stomp box designed to be stepped on? Could you visibly tell she was intoxicated? Was it dark on the stage would she have been able to see the pedal?

Realistically, who would file an insurance claim for something Darkhorse has offered to help you fix for what is likely a few hundred bucks, max???? Live and learn and move on. Insurers HATE tiny claims, they will drop you for filing such nonsense.

For the record, I never said I was trying to file an insurance claim. That was from other TB members. I've been in talks with agedhorse and will be getting some new speakers.

You're right. Sorry, man, I was really addressing the others. Didn't mean it to come off that way.

Edit: Better put, insurance is not meant to smooth out the normal bumps in your life, but to cover losses you cannot afford to cover.

I can tell you that one time a MIDDLE AGED ADULT MALE was acting like a drunk idiot on the dance floor and brought our Peavey PV115 PA speaker crashing to the floor. Broke some of the internal components which we were able to fix. It's just a hazard of the job.

No advice, but I do have a story to share.

My first real band, back when I was in college, invested in a PA system, complete with a Mackie board. Then, we could make money booking shows at places that didn't have sound. So we were playing at a frat party....I saw the whole thing go down....these 3 guys are having a jolly old drunken time. They start singing along to the music, throw their arms around each other and raise their drinks like their at an Irish Pub. Said drinks were right over the brand new Mackie Board. Spillage ensues, and .....boy.....the sound that makes when the board shorts out is really heartbreaking!!! That was the end of that gig....

Actually a few years after that, we were playing at the Trocadero in Philly - some idiot pulls the fire alarm and the sprinklers go off - all over the board - same heartbreaking sound ensues.....

Sounds like your 'Board (and maybe the band members as well) would benefit from some RAINCOATS!:roflmao:

But seriously folks, (1) good thing about playing here in VIVA! Las Vegas, is that it has an image of a party-down town.
(What stays..... etc) and it IS!

But- DON"T be getting rowdy in Clark County, especially in the Casinos, including the showrooms, which is my "Office" so to speak.

What "they" (The Corporations that own the Casinos) want you to do is Gamble, See Shows, Gamble, buy gifts, Gamble, try the fine dining, Gamble, Have a drink poolside or at a Bar, Gamble, hear some live Funky music (In our case anyway), Gamble, and finally, Gamble.

Act up, get rowdy, weird, combative, uncool, uncouth, loud, etc. You will be promptly stopped and set out on the street where Metro will gladly pick up the pieces.

I Love it, actually!:roflmao:

The stage stair case should have been roped off and guarded by someone to prevent audience members from accessing the stage.

I’m sure someone here has already mentioned this. Sorry, but I don’t have the time to read all nine pages of this thread. It could have been worse. Electricity, expensive electronic equipment, and alcohol don’t mix. The woman could have been electrocuted like this French singer recently:

Did anyone think the crossover might be the problem and not the speakers. Pull the speakers out and test them. I've heard of cross overs with thermal protection / fuses. Not the girls fault, if you invited her over to where the pedals are located. If you have a warranty on the cab, that's the only way you're going to be re-imbursed. Good Luck!
