No, but there are only two basses on my GAS list right now... one is a Rob Allen Mouse, and the other is a fretless Lion's Pride. The LP may not happen for another year or so, but it WILL happen.
+1. Take a look at Alain Caron. I have certainly never played any of his basses, but in watching him play, I notice very little movement in his right hand - an incredibly light touch, probably necessary for him to play upper register melodies using the thumb technique as he does. I think this would require an extremely low action, else he simply would not be able to get any voice out of the string way up there....The cool part is you learn to play more effortlessly, and you can go back and forth between slap and fingerstyle without needing any kind of outboard compression.

Edit: There is a ton of movement in his right hand, absolutely speaking. What I mean is that his attack on the bass is very subdued and he seems not to be expending much effort with his right hand, as opposed to, for instance, Louis Johnson, who really got his going.
