The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

The Nobelium is actually not based in the B-15. It's interesting how often I hear this, but the Noble preamp has almost nothing in common with the Ampeg B-15 circuit and in fact has more in common with a Fender preamp design.
Ha! Straight from the horse's mouth, if you will. Thank you for the clarification. Looks like a Grand Slampeg is back on the list now.

So the church is play at has noise/interference from the LED lighting. In a few reviews it was stated that the Radial JDI, because of the transformer, would/could eliminate the noise. So I have an JDI on its way. However I've been reading up on the Finally! v2 having a transformer in it. Is it possible that the Finally! v2 could potentially solve this issue?

Maybe? I don't have any particularly noisy environments to test in, but the XLR output from Finally is definitely transformer coupled just like the Radial JDI.

I’ve played too many shows to count with a finally. V1.

It performs very well in every environment.

Heard that! I've yet to get the JDI as it's on its way. If it does work I may just have to see if the Finally! can be a solution and an upgraded sound.

Regardless once I have an answer to my question I'll report back.

Thanks for the reply.

Finally (trademarked by Sushi) it is HERE! I welcome the Grand Slampegg to Vegas.

I'm thrilled that Grand Slampegg is making its way out and that people are already enjoying it, so it's time for the next item on the to-do list. SBVT II hit a snag, so I decided to bump something else up in the schedule.

I was just starting to get settled in with my pedalboard *sigh*

My pedalboard is parked next to a wireless led array and never had it create noise. Single coil pickups on the other hand are a different story.

For those we set a very low threshold noise gate from the board. Easy fix.

Have used the Neptunium where LED interference was coming through when I had my bridge pickup engaged, noise gate was the only way around it!

How are you hooking up to the board currently?
If with a DI box of any make, they all have a transformer in them.
Use the XLR out to the house board. I have seen some use the Through to the board, use XLR only.

Try flipping or pushing the Ground Lift on the current DI, if you are using one.

Are the Guitars also noisy?

It may be that your bass is poorly shielded and no amount of boxes will help you with that.

Swap your cables?

Can you release the Single slice with the SBVT II at the same time, a single slice is never enough for a growing boy.

If SBVT II were ready at the same time then I absolutely would, I promise I didn't push it back just because I wanted to. I'm hoping to find time this weekend to figure out what I did wrong, and if that goes well I could still potentially have it by the end of the year, but I unfortunately can't make any promises there.

I'm going through Di, XLR out to the board. I can't remember the name of the DI atm. Our sound engineer was trouble shooting the noise issue and turned off the lights. No issue. It's definitely the lights. He explained something about the wiring in the building for the sound and lights should ideally be on different circuits but they aren't and it's not a cheap fix. I've seen comments that the JDI solved similar issues. Hopefully it will work. I'll know in a couple weeks(waiting for it to arrive and my schedule to play.) If it does work then I'll be curious if the Finally! Can have the same result.

Are there any details on the features for the single slice? or will that only be when it's ready to launch?
Maybe over the weekend I'll grab some good pics of the prototype, then I can spill some details on what it's about.

Has the possibility of a Sushi take on the SWR Grand Prix preamp ever come up? A friend of mine just got hold of one and I had a try of it last night and it's really great sounding.
I don't know if it's sonically similar to anything already in the lineup (I didn't have my pedalboard with me to try and compare) but it was pretty awesome.
