This is the tort on my '69 Precision. I love the long streaks in the middle, it's very distinctive.

There's a seller called "fenderparts" on Reverb and eBay who sells celluloid guards that are a little pricier than Fender or Allparts. Spitfires are undoubtedly nicer, but fenderparts are a good source if you want something with a little red and want to see the actual guard you're buying before you order. This pic doesn't do it justice, but here's mine:

I was this close to ordering a Spitfire but the drop down selection on the order form didn't have anything listed for a 10 hole Fender Am Pro Jazz. I emailed them about it and never received a reply. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ended up getting at $10 Fleor and I'm quite happy with it. Even came with a FLEOR sticker I slapped on my hardshell case. lol

Spitfire and the real stuff is 3 dimensional. You can’t see that 3 feet away but up close it to looks like the instruments soul is swirling embers.. which is pretty cool
Oooh! As someone who’s shopping around for the right Spitfire to put on an Olympic white p bass… can you tell me what the details on your spitfire guard are? Dark? burg? Specked?
